Try pressing Q twice, if it changes to quiet then the sound was a FSX artifact (maybe, I'm guessing).There are a couple of fans, but the cockpit should be quiet once everything is cold and dark. Sometimes I could hear the GPU from inside but FSX doesn't switch views and sound seamlessly.

There's some unfortunate quirks in FSX's sound engine that we weren't able to get around at times... if you hear anything strange, pressing Q twice usually fixes it.
