J41 FMS "Hold" Function

Featured Replies

Reading the manual, I am told that if I have highlighted an "appropriate" waypoint and then press the hold button on the FMS that I will be taken to the hold data entry page. Well, this doesn't happen for me. In fact, neither this or the promised position fix show up when I press the hold button. I'm wondering what I am doing wrong. Perhaps I am not choosing an "appropriate" waypoint, but the one I've been trying this with has a hold that's used frequently in real life (DBL VOR setting up for the approach in to Aspen). Any other suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong?Eric

Sorry Eric, the HOLD function of the FMS is not currently implemented. Hopefully a future update can correct that.Regards,Nick

Thanks for the answer. It really surprises me that this isn't implemented seeing as everything since the 737 has had it implemented. Oh well, guess we take what we get and hope for an update sometime.Eric

The hold doesn't work? Come'on. The manual seems to think it works. Why wouldn't the HOLD Button work? I hope that PMDG add's it, it would be an incredible final touch to an amzing product. I'm very suprised it doesn't work, coming from PMDG. There must be a reason for this.J T COLINS

You're right, the manual should have been corrected. I personally went through the manual, page by page, no less than three times looking for mistakes, typos, references to systems that weren't modeled, etc...Apparently, this one got missed. I'm sorry.Regards,Nick

Don't apologize too much...700+ pages is a lot of proofreading and a few mistakes are understandable. Over all, the manual is great. It won't be surprising though that this may be a source of confusion.
