September 8, 200916 yr Hi all,Since I put my antialisasing settings from 4 to 8 (through the NVIDIA 7900 GTX settings) I don't have the visual turning aircraft anymore in the Select Aircraft menu. So this is not about not being able to select aircraft from the menu, it's just that the picture doesn't show.Does anyone have a clue what is happening / how to solve ?Thanks.Eric

I would be interested to know if it works for you.
September 8, 200916 yr Opa, I'm sure you know that using AA from within FS slows things down more than usual. It's a bug when using 8x mode that the preview doesn't show. It doesn't effect the actual game and if you can get by without seeing a preview just leave it alone. Also, you can use window mode (ALT+ENTER) while picking, that will show the preview, then go back to full screen when ready to fly. Also, you can use an alternative 8x mode (such as combined) and that should work fine, although it will be more GPU intensive. - Red E8500 @ 4.1 | EVGA 275GTX (overclocked) | 2x2GB Mushkin Enhanced Redline @ 1066 | Samsung 24inch LCD @ 1920x1080 |
September 8, 200916 yr Opa,Thanks for your idea, but I'm afraid Red is right: Using the FS AA settings slows things down too much.Red,What do you mean by an alternative 8x mode? To be honest I am not so familiar with all this AA, AS, etc stuff...Eric
September 8, 200916 yr Eric,I used to run a 7800GT; it's an Nvidia thing. And Opa's suggestion (in-sim AA) is the only way I found to get around it, if I wanted to see the aircraft I was selecting. So eventually, I just went with the dark screen in the selection menu and allowed my gfx card to do the anti-aliasing, as Red1 mentioned. Yes, I feel your pain; this was actually one of the factors in my decision to switch and stay with an ATI card, despite some of the negative comments I'd read regarding FSX performance (I run and enjoy both). It's just no fun having a favorite sim give the appearance that something is broken, even if it isn't.
