Add GPS

I'd like to know if it's possible add the GPS to the panel and flying with it as a custom panel of FS2004

in more detail you can always add the GPS, but depending on the addon, you may not be able to use the GPS to control the plane.many payware addon aircraft panels do not use FS's autopilot so the GPS has no way to control the plane's direction of flight ... even if you add the NAV/GPS switch to the panel.--

I add a Garmain -500 GPS to all of the aircraft that I have that do not come with it. Email me what aircraft your trying to add a GPS to and I'll send you the modified panel.cfg that will add the default Garmin-500 GPS. jerrycwo4email: [email protected]

May I suggest that you do not post your actual e-mail address in a forum anywhere - spell it out instead (galfred at comcast dot net)There are people who use programs which troll the various forums and automatically harvest "good" addresses which are then past on to spammers.Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the tip, Opa, I'll heed this advise in the future. One of the above posts is also true. I installed a Garmin 500 GPS in a Aerosoft DH-2 Beaver and even put in a "radio with AP " from the Cessna 182. The GPS works but the AP did NOT work. jerrycwo4

Just curious - did you add the following to the [Autopilot] section?autopilot_available=1

I changed the "0" to a "1" and it now "works" (kind of) but I can NOT change its heading as the Autopilot in the VERTUIAL cockpit does not work and I have to swithch back and fourth from the COCKPIT to the VERTUIAL COCKPIT to change my heading. If I could find a Horizonal Situation Indicator (HSI) gauge that I could UNDOCK then I would not have to swithch back and forth. I'm using 3- 26" monitors for my FS2004. Thanks jerrycwo4
