v5 ATIS

Featured Replies

I have a suggestion about ATIS in v5. I am not sure if this will be implemented but is it possible to get the ATIS to work much further out from the arrival airport than it does at present. It would be good if you could get the runway in use via ATIS well before the TOD point so that a propper STAR can be put into the FMC with the correct runway selected, rather than having to guess the runway. It all looks good and I can't wait.Andy S

the reason is was limited in v4, is how i determine what runway is in use. that is based on what the ai are doing. since i don't see ai at 60-70 miles out, the runways in use is kind of iffy.in v5, you will be able to check atis, and you can do something new, which is a takeoff on a acars function. which means you can get the weather at any airport that you loaded in your .pln.runway in use is still going to be iffy.so you're still going to have to guess the runway. sorry.jd
