JS41 VC Performane

Featured Replies

Hi,2D (no panel) and exterior views i'm getting between 100 and 200 frames but in VC only around 30 - far less than the 747 and MD11, is it something i'm doing wrong, or need to tick something?Either way i'll keep on flying the JS, but if I could improve the frames it can only make things better!Intel i7 920 @ 3.8GHzGeForece GTX9206GB RAMSam

I noticed a decrease from the MD-11 and 747 as well. Others seem to be getting fantastic performance in the VC and on an I7, I would expect great performance. I wonder if it is something unique to the I7 platform? I have my 920 OC'd to 3.2. I am just curious, what type of RAM are you running in your box and what are the timings on the RAM?

The main thing that helped me was to set frame rate to unlimited in FSX, with Aerosoft Nice airport I was getting about 15fps ish but that goes to around 30 with it set unlimeted. Also you can configure certain things in the PMDG config editor like display rates, icing etc, just mess with it you seem to have a good system and I think 30 fps is pretty smooth.Dan.

Hi,It's nice to know I'm not the only one - I'm not on the PC at the moment so I'll have to get back to you on that one...

Hi Dan,Thanks for the 'tip' - I'm already running unlimited however. I know 30 isn't too bad, it's just this model is supposed to have increased performance over add-ons and in my case seems to be the opposite.

Sam,Have you messed around with the config editor? I don't really notice a huge difference between the "high res displays" and the"normal" ones.I also turn down the FO display rates as I usually fly left seat, sorry if you already know all this but it does help a little.I am now getting about the same rates as on the MD-11 sometimes better because for me, the MD-11 doesn't take well to unlimited frame rates.Dan.

I noticed a large increase in going from High Quality guage display to Normal Quality. I find the difference to be minimal.Hope this helps.

same here. decreased it and the quality is still outstanding. and as is performance. honestly, I am sold. just did my first flight (though I have to admit I started with running engines :( ) from LOWI to EDDM and the immersion - together with REX2 - was immense while flying over the alps and then into EDDM. The VC is much easier than expected. Maybe a little steep approach. Tried SLOW DOWN THEN GO DOWN but had to push the lady down and then flare down half of RWY08R :( 2234969.jpg2234965.bmp2234971.jpg2234973.jpgPhil
