It is the same for me. I have 5.1 surround sound system and it is working for the default FSX planes, but the sound is limited to the front channels in JS41 :(

Hmm - this is strange, is this happening with the engine sounds and / or the panel sounds like switches, levers, callouts etc. Also, does it happen only in the cockpit or also the external view? Thanks,

its happening with all kind of sounds, in all kind of views, in all kind of situations. It seams that the the rear sounds are mixed with the front sounds, while output is only on the front channels.J

I listened to all channels carefully this evening, and I found that engine sounds are always limited to front channels at all views. The only sound that is heard from all speakers is standby instruments sound (The continuous tickling sound heard in the cockpit when batteries are on but avionics are off, I guess I define it correct). The sounds of buttons and switches and avionics are also limited to the front channels.

Hmm - this is strange
So this is not the case for everyone right? I mean at least some users can receive sound from all channels?Hope this is fixed soon. Anyway, it's still a great plane.

ohh til this is fixed, you could switch to some kind of CMSS mode (thats made to play stereo sounds virtual surround) to hear at lest something from behind.

I don't think I saw CMSS function on my on-board sound card but I'll look for it when I get home. Thank you.
