  1. ...what i do preventing against OOM`s is simply deaktivating all not needed scenerys for the flight together with moving all other addon planes from "simobjects / airplanes" to a backup folder. creating and loading the initial situation is also much much faster this way. JG
  2. did you check emerg lights switch ? ...if it is armed, the doom lights switch automatical on as soon eletrical power is off, of course it switch also on if emerg lights switch is in on position, what about the storm light switch ? JG
  3. yes it is, need to be unchecked. ...PD is working nice here now, got 3 in a row using first request, no second request needed until now JG

Hi Eric, after refueling for the next leg, go to FMC`s PERF INIT page. on the left side (LSKL2) there should be a fuel entry having a wrong entry (got not updated while refueling), simply hit "1" into the scratchpad and click that onto the false fuel ammount (LSKL2), it instandly got corrected by the plane logic using the current values then. JG

Hi Ray, when would be the 1.st possible situation (after takeoff / climb 10k / cruise / center`s initial descent request) getting the "3-PD" menu entry, not using "Otto" at all and if all is running as it should ? ...i want to try something, not shure but ithink it could be with removing some FSX text messages in fsx.cfg (brake message in green text line for example and i removed some other too) but using fsuipc multiple text window, whitch is hideable using a keystroke. ive allready disabled FDC livecockpit and FSUIPC`s special text window, but this wasn`t interferring (other things, keyb. related) as long you start FDC after RC. iam pretty shure i did something or used something which let the "3-PD" menue entry disapear. i think its 1.st possible appeareance before the problem was after takeoff somwhere (of course not using "Otto" for comms or let him using the controls).   11. ...cant see the eicas warning message clear enough, but ithink it was about a generator not working, the left one ? ...and after that load shedding maybe ? i may not right, but are the wing lights switched on (the wings are lighted) ? ...did you had icing conditions ? (could this help with load shedding ? ...not shure) JG

Hi James, i had also a problem with a black screen but having also error message regarding licensing service and my JetStream 41, as support couldnt help me with that i didnt fly her for some month`s, after using this new rig here all went ok (new rig problem solved, yipi ya yeah ? ... ohh wait wooow smoooth yipi ya yeah !!!). i have some questions here which i would ask me again, maybe they could help with your problem... - did i followed the intro manuals advice not installing FSX into the default directory but maybe C:\FSX or another drive/partition ? - if not do i have user account control activated ? (i wont recommend disabaleing it for security reasons but without the plug in the case i can test that, better install in another location) - is my windows account part of the admin group ? - if not did i run the installer and FSX with optional admin rights ? - did i checked my system`s event protocol for possible HD read/write errors ? - did i checked my systems application protocol which could help me with error messages ? - did i checked if maybe security software like an antivirus or combined firewall antispy app is blocking something ? - did i start FSX in windowed mode ? (maybe the activation window need that, i can configure that in the fsx.cfg, not shure if it is by default) - did i updated my os and drivers after reinstalling my OS ? - did i reinstalled FSX acceleration or FSX service pack 2 ? - what happens if i press "enter" and or "ALT+ENTER" when the black screen is showing ? edit: sorry if something was allready asked above but i want to have it most complete... JG
  14. good idea, i would like using GSX if it its running flawless with the t7, animations arent important for me in this case, iam simply missing a bigger cargo loader for the main cargo door of the F model, i dont know if GSX can handle that. JG
  15. hi all, thanks for all the tips and tricks and good support ! i was used to RC`s early descent instructions without using PD as i cant use it, which wasnt a problem for me, but i thought and wonder how it would be in reality, ...is a vnav path descent the common routine where the pilot request the initial descent or is it always first instructed by the controler (while taking wind and approach into account) ? or is it more the vertical speed descent which have a fixed decent rate (controlers may love to instruct that for eyasyer seperation and planing ?), but if traffic allow they give that PD allowing for vnav path... all together with possible crossing restrictions ? it also seams to be regional different, i realy dont know and it is not all to important, but difficult to simulate. @Ray: you tested that on FS9, the core code for FSX is more or less the same ithink but the interface is different, on the other hand iam pretty shure the FSX version was tested regarding PD. the PD option RC gives me in its possibilitys (if its working for me), is a welcome variation, i create a log while on my next flight then, your time invest in supporting RC is well appreciated, i hope you had at least a little bit fun while flying my boring fp. ^_^ JG

  18. ohh shure they also have, but plz understand that this is nothing compared against the nightmare a consumer system could be... did you, or do you have someone who take a look over your systems event protocol ? JG
  19. ahem, this is not the vc model, the vc model is much more critical, you know that frames are much lower in that position, adding polygones or animations there is not realy recommended, vc seams optimal balanced allready. Edit: from my view and for this product, sim and immersion are equal important, but if i have the choice between cargo loaders or shared cockpit, what do you think i would prefer :lol: JG
  20. hmm... that seams a possible reason not doing it, but if you have a model which isnt giving that feature, you could also add another which have that feature as an optional, easy selectable using the op center, i have plenty of VAS for that bit of little textures (or could they also use textures which are allready in use ?). Do you think they remove the cargo loaders from the 747 when they develope it further to the new standard ? (and yep you got me, this isnt the 747) JG

  22. ok lol, you precise describe the internal process a incident could go (which is correct +1), but if such a process is running on customer side then it is also a change, which is solving the problem, for this customer. JG
  23. i totaly agree, and its not only the different system setups, there is a real nightmare of different FSX setups, which could include tonns of different addons, scenerys and system tweaks which could end into a deadly poisened mod soup, a real hot landing zone for such a complex product. ...maybe, the day is comming and PMDG decide not developing for consumers any more but for the professional market only, having more profit but less "problems", so ithink it would be wise to say THANK YOU ! JG
  24. i wont debate now about ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library), ...but a workarround is something you go arround the problem, like telling the customer not using the cold&dark panel state but the other functional ones which let him use the product. if something got changed from which side ever, like exchanging the cold&dark situation which fix the problem, then the problem is solved from/for customer side (not PMDG if a single customer did it on his own), as this customer wont have to do anything which is working arround the problem, but can operate as intended without any constraint. if the customer did it on his own, this of course is a change which isnt approved and directed by the change management and not intended but is still a change which solve the problem (for this customer). :Nerd: JG
