FMS and Waypoint - JS41

Featured Replies

Silly question probably but untill now I use the FSX flight planner to make my flight plan. The FMS of the JS 41 does not accept flight plan from FSX flight planner, I have read the instruction and I understand I must enter the different waypoint. My question is how the hell do I know the name of the different waypoint or airways to use if I want to go from point A to point B ?Is there any freeware alternative to the two programe mentioned in the tutorial (FSBuild and FSNavigator) ?Or is there any site where I can found the name of the waypoint and airways so that I can enter them into the FMS ?Thanks in advance.Arnaud de Saint Hilaire

There is a lot that goes into flight planning and specifically determining a route for commercial flights. This is why the FAA certifies Flight Dispatchers. :( You can start with the IFR charts including enroute (high and low) and terminal (approach and departure) procedures. You can find these charts at:http://skyvector.com/ (click the enroute box at the top of the map)http://www.sportys.com/tpp/ (for approach procedures) An easy free sim flight planning tool: http://www.simroutes.com/If you do a search either here at Avsim or on Google you can find a lot more information on how to do basic flight planning.

I'll give you my typical sources for any IFR flight.Charts: http://www.aeroplanner.com/flightplanning/approachplates.cfm (USA CHARTS ONLY!)http://usa-w.vatsim.net/charts/ (WORLDWIDE CHARTS)Flight Plan: http://flightaware.com/statistics/ifr-route/ (USA FP ONLY - Real-world)http://rfinder.asalink.net/free/ (WORLDWIDE FP FOR SIM ONLY) <----- Best source for freeware flight plans as it includes the most current navdata.
