FSX Closing Down Crash with J41

Featured Replies

What a superb product - thankyou! After destroying a few engines I'm starting to manage to fly the J41 confidently and love it to bits! :( However, every single time I close FSX after using it, I get a error warning from Vista saying that FSX isn't responding and it shuts FSX down. I don't ever have this happen when using any other aircraft - only the J41.Specs:Q6600 Quad, Vista 32 bit, 6GB RAM, NVidia GTX260 896MBAny ideas? CheersPeter

We're already aware of it and trying to find a solution. It's been reported that you don't get a crash if you just exit FSX straight away from within the plane - don't "End Flight" back out to the menu.

Agreed Peter, this is a superb simulation, and a welcome deviation from the usual jets and popular GA aircraft. There's nothing like the unexpected to make things interesting again. I'm getting the crash on exit too, as are a lot of others, and the guys are already investigating this one:http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=260162Good luck to them on their road to SP1!

Thanks Gentlemen. I'm pleased to know it's not just me (always a good sign!) and that there is a work around for now.Peter

I just got the software today and haven't properly taken off yet. I've only loaded the plane into FSX 3 or 4 times without any issues except once where everything, mouse & all locked up and after a couple of minutes my system re-booted. At the time I was in the early part of the tutorial. I have a quad core with 6 gigs of ram and a 9800 GTX+ video card. As I said it only happened once so far and may have absolutely nothing to do with the JS4100.I haven't learned to start the engines properly yet or load a flight plan into the FMC. It looks like I'm at the beginning of a long trail to get to where I can learn to fly this wonderful virtual plane! :(
