September 11, 200916 yr How do I darken the ridiculously bright night lighting in the virtual cockpit of the default cessna 208?ThanksAlex
September 11, 200916 yr Not positive but I think the entry for 'fx_vclight' in the 'aircraft.cfg' file can be substituted or altered.Use an editor and open the 'fx_vclight.fx' and try altering this values. BACKUP THE FILE FIRST!Color Start=100, 100, 100, 1 Color End=180, 140, 100, 0 Example lighting entries below.[LIGHTS]//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpitlight.0 = 3, 0.56, -28.41, 1.97, fx_navred ,light.1 = 3, 0.56, 28.41, 1.97, fx_navgre ,light.2 = 3, -31.20, 0.00, 9.75, fx_navwhi ,light.3 = 2, 0.89, -28.48, 1.87, fx_strobe ,light.4 = 2, 0.89, 28.48, 1.87, fx_strobe ,light.5 = 1, -26.30, 0.00, 9.89, fx_beacon ,light.6 = 2, -4.55, 0.00, -1.85, fx_strobe ,light.7 = 4, 4.91, 0.00, 1.64, fx_vclight,More info here --> http://forums1.avsim.net/lofiversion/index.php/t67542.html
September 12, 200916 yr Moderator My best advice is to NEVER alter any of the default files in FS...Make a COPY of any given file, rename it, then play with the COPY... :( Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
September 12, 200916 yr how do I get rid of the reflections on the glass? thats the main thing that blinds me at night
September 12, 200916 yr http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=259733Of course this will only work in the default aircraft. If it is a 3rd party aircraft, the developers may have not named the file as a reflection. You may have to hunt the right one down by trial and error.
September 13, 200916 yr Thanks for the tip. But will that get rid of all reflections on the airplane? Or just the windows like I want?
September 14, 200916 yr didn't do it. At night the reflections on the glass of the dome light are blinding in the default cessna 208
