September 12, 200916 yr I bought the PMDG 737 800/900 upgrade to use with my PMDG 737 700. First, I ran into many issues trying to install it since I am using VISTA. Then, when I finally get it to install the GEN1 and GEN2 buttons do not work. Also, the airac no longer includes all SIDS that I had when I was flying the PMDG 737. No GEELA3 out of KPHX and I cannot use A/T since the above buttons do not operate. Also, the FMC buttons do not line up. When I click the 0 button, I get an 8. I downloaded all the files from the support page but they did not work. I have over 700 hrs with the older version 737 600/700 that works perfectly and I was hoping to get this upgrade to improve a more realistic panel since I fly for virtualswa.com for southwest BUT no luck!!! Any Help???
September 12, 200916 yr I assume in your upgrade you had the 600/700 service pack installed, then then the 800/900 and then its service pack. The 800/900 adds missing features and fixes for all 737 models. If you get on precisionmanuals.com wiki I think you'll find an FAQ entry regarding mouse pointer position and button activation. It has to do with the aspect ratio (width to height) of the resolution your FS video setting is at and the shape of your screen and how you have the FMC sized to display.Regarding the GEN1 and GEN2 on the overhead bus transfer panel, do they light up after the engines have started? Is the autotransfer bus on that electric panel enabled? If they light then clicking on the switch should transfer the bus. Offhand, I don't recall if power is required from the APU to effect the change. Ground power disconnects when the engine starts. If you don't use the APU look at the electric panel and check the voltmeter status for all. If you were on battery too long perhaps there is not enough power to transfer the bus.I found that once the battery or bus 1 disconnect switch was operated on the electric panel it was not possible to enable bus 1 power again, and transfer the power to the generator. The transfer panel gen 1 source light said nothing was available. Same for gen 2.I had to load the flight over again. I've never tried recovering from a forced disconnect before. My normal start sequence operated fine. APU start. Bleed on APU only. Trasnsfer bus 1 and then bus 2 to APU when indicator comes up. When ready start engine 1. When it stabilizes transfer bus 1 to engine gen 1 and APU 1 light dims. Repeat for engine 2. Bleeds to engine on, APU bleed off. Turn off APU according to policy as to timing. Now, if you are referring to the electrical transfer switches not moving then it is the panel alignment display as on the FMC.Besides the wiki, this button alignment position has been brought up on the PMDG forum here on AVSIM several times. Do a search there for FMC buttons not working or misaligned and message links should pop up.
September 12, 200916 yr Also, the FMC buttons do not line up. When I click the 0 button, I get an 8. Any Help???I'll comment on this portion of your post. If you drag the bottom of the FMC and enlarge it, then button "0" will respond correctly. Or you can point to the lower portion of the "0" button and it will register correctly.Jim D.
