J41 Overspeed Crash

Featured Replies

Hi Folks!Just did a short flight through Germany. While beeing in the descend I wanted to make good some time und speeded up a little bit. I flew with online weather - but I had no gusts or turbulences. And during a moment without attention the the airspeed i went up to 252-254 KIAS. As soon as I heard the overspeed clicker I pulled the throttles back but after 4-5 Seconds in the overspeed area the Sim told me I crashed the a/c due to the structural limits (sorry, german version - so i do not know what it is called in the english version). The question: Was that a FSX problem or is crash acceptance for overspeeding the JS41 a little low in the config or wherever it is written down?Thank you!

The crash due to overstress is a FSX option. Your choice. You really do not gain very much in a fast descent. The time gained is negligible, there is a fuel cost and then you have to slow down, which is not easy in a clean JS41.

Jan,The airspeed limitations set in the JS4100 are doing this, and they're probably set a little low. Structural speed limitations are, I understand, set in the real aircraft by the speed at which the windscreen can withstand a bird strike, and that number is 260 KIAS. Watch your speed!Edit: Also...what Dan said.
