September 14, 200916 yr I had a bit of a go with shared cockpit on gamespy last night. We both loaded up the tutorial flight so that everything would be the same. What I noticed and i'm not sure if it was related to one of our connections but there seemed to be a horrible amount of lag between actions made in the cockpit. It took up to 5 mins or so for the other player to see what I was doing. We then tested with the default cessna and it was smooth as silk. Should we connect directly? Can anyone offer some tips to succsefully using this plane in shared cockpit. This plane is made for it and I think there is lots of oportunity to teach my friends the basics as they move into more complexed aircraft.Cheers Andrew.
September 15, 200916 yr I've not tried using shared cockpit, but I inserted a bit of code into the panel.cfg so that I could have a popup PFD and ND on another screen, and I've noticed that it takes a minute or two just to update the popup. A lot of custom progamming may explain this behaviour because I've also noticed that the VC gauges are smooth as silk. (I've since reverted to the original panel.cfg too, incidentally)I don't think your connection is a factor in this behaviour. Mike Beckwith
September 15, 200916 yr Unfortunately, FSX shared cockpit feature is limited to only the default FSX aircraft - but the default aircraft do work wonderfully.Look into Maddog "Fly the Maddog", Digital Aviations Fokker 70/100 and Lotus Simulations L-39 Albatros for working shareable cockpits. I wish more developers would incorporate this feature. AMD 7900X | ASRock Steel Legend X670E | G.SKILL 32GB DDR5 6000 | MSI 6950XT | Noctua NH-D14 EVGA Super NOVA 850W | Cooler Master HAF932 | Hisense 43" 4K UHD | Win11

You must have the planes exactly the same. eg.CFG, paints etc. Then they work fine.Andrew.
September 17, 200916 yr The PMDG MD-11 does NOT work with shared cockpit. The person I tried to fly with had the exact same installation as me. As well, we both re-installed the plane and applied the updates.I think I can remember that we both loaded up just fine, and we able to swap controls. However, nothing in the cockpit was shared, ie. yoke, systems, etc.The outside control surfaces were visibly moving as the person with the controls was moving them.It would be nice for PMDG to incorporate this feature in their upcoming Dash 8 and NGX. It would also be nice, however beyond the scope of the product, to make an update for the J41. Erik L.
