September 17, 200916 yr I've done some searching here in the forum but perhaps haven't used the right search terms. I was wondering if the 737 TNG for FS9 runs ok on Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I've finally got a system that will run FS9 well enough to add some complex aircraft, but it has 64 bit Vista and it doesn't work well with a couple of my other FS9 add-ons. I wanted to get the PMDG 737, but wanted to make sure I wasn't going to have problems with this version of Vista. Also, I've got the Mike Ray Flying the Boeing Airliners for Sim Pilots manual. Should that be enough to help a newbie to complex aircraft to get airborne? Thanks!Ken Pryor

September 18, 200916 yr Author I finally took the plunge and bought the 737-600/700 this evening and all I can say is "wow!". I've been missing out for a long time; this plane is awesome. I've still got much to learn, but at least managed to get it off the ground and learned a little of the FMC tonight. Can't wait to learn more, but have to sleep now. Thanks PMDG for a great aircraft.Ken Pryor
September 18, 200916 yr Also, I've got the Mike Ray Flying the Boeing Airliners for Sim Pilots manual. Should that be enough to help a newbie to complex aircraft to get airborne?Hi Ken,It's a great book but, as the author himself states, his aim is not to teach you how to pre-flight and start-up the plane. There are plenty of great tutorials available on the net. One of the best is definitely Tim Metzinger's tutorial but I am not sure it is freely available on the net anymore. Finally, if I may, I would suggest that, AFTER you've taken the time to understand the plane's systems and its operation, you should get FS2Crew. This add-on, although not stricly reflecting the very latest Boeing operating procedures, shows you the way a real two-pilot crew operates and adds a lot to your simming experience (I am not a commercial pilot but I think this opinion is shared by many).Hope this helps,Bruno - LFPE
September 18, 200916 yr Author Hi Bruno, thanks for the suggestions! I did a google search for Timothy Metzinger's tutorial and found it, so I downloaded it and will go through it as soon as I get time. You're right about the Mike Ray book, it's very good but doesn't take you from start to finish. Just the same, it's very helpful and I'm sure Mr. Metzinger's tutorial will help a lot too.I've heard of FS2Crew, but never really looked at it, so I'm not sure what all it does. I'll take a look at it.Thanks!Ken
