Uninstalling Acceleration?

Featured Replies

Due to conflicts I'm having with another add on, I'm thinking about uninstalling the FSX acceleration pack and then installing FSX SP2 instead. Question is, will this cause problems with any of PMDGs add ons?? Would I need to install SP2 then re install PMDG's aircraft after that?Cheers

Also would like to do this? Is it possible?

I've never tried this but I can't see why it'd necessitate a reinstall of the planes - just uninstall Acceleration, install SP2, and then run FSX. It shouldn't touch the planes...

Ok, next question - how do I uninstall acceleration with uninstalling FSX altogether? Add/remove programs only gives me an option to remove 'FSX:Acceleration' nothing else - this seems to be a 'remove FSX' option.

No it's not - you use that, it uninstalls Acceleration. Then reload Add/Remove and it'll show a vanilla FSX entry there after.

This may not harm your installation of your planes (but I doubt it), but I'm almost certain that this will mess up any scenery or other addon's that you have installed. In my opinion, and from my own experiences, your better off doing a complete install if you start messing around with uninstalling acceleration, but try it. The worst thing that can happen is you need to do a re-install.
