September 25, 200916 yr Could someone else please check this out for me...I took off from said landing strip in the ultra-light and after going slightly over the water, turned 90 degrees to the left and started heading up to 3,000 feet. Well...in the distance over the island, I saw a solo form (wings, dark,) to be descending for a landing. Ok, I thought it to be an AI G.A. plane that was built into the Victoria Plus scenery. I decided to 'follow' it as best I could to see where it was going to park itself. To my utter astonishment, it descended quickly and settled down upon a MOUNTAIN PEAK! What?!?!??!?!I then flew closer and realized it was a hawk. Then, three more were found to be soaring on air currents above Mayne Island. If you have this scenery installed, I would request that you take the ultra-light out and follow my general flight path...and see if you can catch the hawks soaring. I got really close to one...and the detail was enjoyable. By looking at them, I'd say they were hawks. The feathers were quite detailed as was actually the entire body.Oh, important, you need to have Scenery Complexity set to EXTREMELY DENSE. I also have AUTOGEN also set to EXTREMELY DENSE. Those two settings might be needed to have the hawks out soaring.....not sure, but most probably so.:)Don't collide with one....for they can become messy upon your visor....lol!

Do you have Thermals on in your FSX settings? If you do, that is where the hawks or eagles are coming from. They are there to show you where the thermals are. I get them all over the place. I think their scale is way out of whack, as I often see them from quite a distance away and mistake them for AI aircraft.Bill
