September 27, 200916 yr There seems to be some sort of brake bug going on. Sometimes my brakes do not respond at all, meaning, I press the period key and nothing happens. I know FS is receiving the key press because I can release the parking brakes by pressing the period key. I have found that I need to mess with the auto brake system to get my brakes back. I'll bring the aircraft to a complete stop using the parkin brakes. Then I'll cycle the auto brake system between ROT and OFF. This seems to restore my normal brakes.I searched the forum briefly and found that others are having various other issues with brakes too, such as the brakes not releasing. My issue is just that the brakes sometimes do not activate.EDIT: By the way, I am using the following addons and VISTA 64xUTX, GEX, Registered FSUIPC, REX, and only the PMDG MD-11 is installed. This is also a fresh install of VISTA and FSX, I wiped out my HDD yesterday and reinstalled all of this.Mike Brown Mike Brown
September 28, 200916 yr Commercial Member Last night I had the auto braking system fail to disconnect on pressing the brakes. It brought the aircraft to a complete stop, and I had to cycle the switch from MED to TO then OFF to release them.Spoilers on that landing were NOT armed, and thus not deployed after touchdown.Best regards,Robin.
September 28, 200916 yr Author After start up I typically lower the flaps and start my taxi...that is when I discover I have no brakes. So, I need to stop the plane via the parking brakes then I cycle the auto brake system from OFF to LOW then back to off. This restores my brakes. Mike Brown
September 28, 200916 yr Author Never mind....this isn't a PMDG problem. I installed and loaded up another one of my Payware aircraft and I am having the same issue. I reinstalled FSUIPC and going to try again. I'll report back here if that seems to have fixed the problem. Mike Brown
September 28, 200916 yr Author I don't know what is going on now ... deleted the FSUIPC.INI file so FSUIPC would have to rebuild it yet I continue to experience this brake problem. Mike Brown
September 28, 200916 yr Commercial Member I'm not running FSUIPC as far as I'm aware.I don't usually have a problem. I put it down to landing without arming the spoilers (intentional).Manually braking should have dis-engaged the auto-brakes (which it does usually, but not this time).Best regards,Robin.
