September 28, 200916 yr Hi all,Well, it seems Laplink have managed to accomplish something that Microsoft couldn't, (or wouldn't?), and that's the transfer of programs from XP to Windows 7:http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2353301,00.aspThere are some caveats like not moving hardware drivers and software that uses its own hardware drivers, such as antivirus applications and it remains to be seen just how effective PCmover proves to be following its release in October, but it could be just the thing I need to persuade me to make the leap when I've a mind to do so.However, it does beg the question as to why Microsoft could not or would not provide a similar upgrade route for all those XP users out there. Could they be punishing us for not moving to Vista? Oh heaven forfend that this be so!Mike

September 29, 200916 yr Laplink?!Wow. There's a blast from the past. I remember hooking up my Laplink serial cables to slide files from one computer to another... then they did it with the parallel port and holy cow it was fast!(*I have nothing else constructive to add to the thread.)
