October 13, 200916 yr thanks yallI do have a fanless 7600 nvidia card, and driver, does it run w/cuda and vlc or wm 11?
October 13, 200916 yr Below is a copy of my display.cfg on my fs9 machine which can be found in the fs9 folder. As you can see I have deleted all entries of any reference to any other cards. You will have to add this in manually and also back up your original display.cfg. I actually just changed an old existing nvidia entry with my card type and details and also added the shader20plus mod as well. [000010DE:00000611:nv4_displ.dll] and MinDriverRev: are the important factors here and will have to be found manually using dxdiag.start>run>dxdiag>ok Wait for the page to load and then choose save all information. I saved to desktop. Open and scroll down to display devices. This is where you will find the info you need. So my info looked like this:Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Vendor ID=0x10DE > turns into 000010DEDevice ID=0x0611 > turns into 00000611Driver Name=nv4_displ.dllMinDriverRev=6.14.0011.8048Before doing this also try:start>all programs>microsoftgames>microsoft flight simulator 2004>troubleshooting>reset defaults. This might just be the longway round to the game recreating a new fs9.cfg but cant hurt to try.;**********************************************************************;; NVidia Cards;;**********************************************************************;----------------------------------------------------------------------; NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT;----------------------------------------------------------------------[000010DE:00000611:nv4_disp.dll]PanelAsTexture=0Shader20Plus=20UseShaders=1[000010DE:00000611:nv4_disp.dll.1]MinDriverRev=6.14.0011.8048PanelAsTexture=2Shader20Plus=20UseShaders=1
October 14, 200916 yr Author Hi Garys - I tried your recommendation for the display.cfg, to no avail. I also added the correct entry manually in the fs9.cfg for the nvidia card, to no avail. I go back to what I said above as what I believe the problem to be, and that a complete system kill and rebuild will be necessary to correct it. If anyone has any other ideas, please write them here, and I'll give them a shot. Thanks,Jim Jim BlakeCaptain, SWA Virtual AirlinesReal World C172 Pilot, AOPA #06034701

It would be interesting to see what would happen if you were to revert back to your old ati card and catalyst drivers. It would be a shame to do a complete system install again only to find out the problem is a compatabilty issue with the smarttech/nvidia setup with fs9
