CLOUD 9 Amsterdam ver1.04

Featured Replies

Sence i bought Cloud 9 Amsterdam version 1.04, the latest one, i was having some MAJOR problem with elevation/terrain, call it whatever you like. So, i wrote about the problem on their forum, and they keep telling me that everything is just fine and that is me who have problem, because i probably have or had NL2000 or Germany Scenery 3 from Aerosoft. Now, i don't have ANY of these two installed! I NEVER have them installed, a matter of fact. So i told tham that thing again, same story again. "You mast have something that make you problem"...they said! :( Ok...forget about all story, the point is, that some people WANT admit that they make a mistake even if they are.So here is the picture of the problem:98382487.jpgHow to fix it:Open your SCENERY.cfg , from root folder of the FS9, with notepad.Find this section:[Area.219]<----------------------------------------don't pay attention on this number, yours is probably differentTitle=Amsterdam 2006 (terrain)

My Specification: I CAN RUN FSX IN MAX SETTINGS....i don't care about dell, bell, amd, intel, 60000 wats power supply or alien made graphic card....

You might not had THESE specific sceneries, but you surely have something else that has created the same effect. Might be also a mesh, or another ACAD for EHAM with the wrong altitude. OR, you might have moved EHAM on a different (lower) layer than where the installer puts it.BTW, I can't find your post on Cloud9 forum, have you posted with a different nickname ? If yes, which one ?
Ok...forget about all story, the point is, that some people WANT admit that they make a mistake even if they are.
EHAM has been released in August 2005, and is BY FAR, the most successfull product that Cloud9 has ever released AND it comes with TRIAL VERSION. Don't you think that, if if *really* had a so obvious problem as in your screenshot, it would have been reported by hundreds of poeople already, and fixed long ago and, if it wasn't, everybody would have noticed it in the Trial, and not buying it in the first place ? Which, of course, is also a reason what you are saying with "people wont admit their mistakes", doesn't make any sense when THERE'S A TRIAL which, if it really had obvious bugs such that one, it would have hurt sales a lot,.
So here is the picture of the problem:
This is not how the scenery looks like. This is EHAM 1.04, just installed, without touching anything, taken from a similar position/angle of your screenshot:eham_correct.jpgWhich clearly proves that, if was something else in your system that created that problem, the scenery does not look like that. The FS2000-style flatten you used, might have fixed it, but it shouldn't be normally necessary if there's no scenery in conflict and if EHAM is set at the correct layer priority (which is were its installer puts it by default).

Mine look just like that, with terrain flattering line, right now. And by the way, that picture i show, is taken with FRESH FS9 install, no add ons at all, except PMDG MD11, some AI traffic, and Cloud 9.So, if PMDG or AI cause it, than what to say...I don't want to argue or something, but there is problem with C9. No matter if its out for 10 years."If you have this add on, than install this, if you have that add on, than install that, if you maybe have this, than our product is not compatible with that..."On older FS9 installation, i have Aerosoft, Fly Tampa, FS Dream Team... and none of them have problem with anything. C9 have problem with bunch of add on. ...never mind, one way or another, i will use C9 as is, till Aerosoft release Schiphol, which is goin' to be soon. After that, "Recycle Bin"!

My Specification: I CAN RUN FSX IN MAX SETTINGS....i don't care about dell, bell, amd, intel, 60000 wats power supply or alien made graphic card....

After that, "Recycle Bin"!
Unless you'll discover you still have the same problem in Amsterdam. :( By the way I've been using Cloud9 EHAM for years, I have tones of addons installed and have never seen something like you.

Same as mine. Your FS9 might not really "fresh", because you might have either a file or something else coming from the previous installation. Another reason why it might have happened, is if you manually changed the layering order in the Scenery Library.
So, if PMDG or AI cause it, than what to say...
Depending what do you mean with "some AI traffic". It an AI traffic package comes with replacement ACAD files with wrong altitude (even slightly), it might create something like that, expecially if it was designed for the default EHAM.
I don't want to argue or something, but there is problem with C9. No matter if its out for 10 years.
No there's isn't. YOU have a problem with it and of course, since it has been out for lot of time, and sold several thousands of copies, if the problem was really in the scenery, there would have been A LOT of similar reports, and the problem would have fixed long ago BECAUSE, it wouldn't be in Cloud9 best interest to leave such a glaring bug, because the scenery has a Trial version.
On older FS9 installation, i have Aerosoft, Fly Tampa, FS Dream Team... and none of them have problem with anything. C9 have problem with bunch of add on.
No, it hasn't. YOU have a problem with it, with nobody seems to share.BTW, there was a recent post on Cloud9 forum about something similar, and of course, the problem wasn't C9 Eham, but NL2000, and the poster fixed it by restoring some default files that were altered by installing NL2000. On the other hand, you said you asked for help on Cloud9 forum, and got an unsatisfactory answer. I've asked you under which nickname you posted, because I can't find such post on Cloud9 forum, the only one that resembled it, was the one referenced above.

Ok then, could you tell me what is maybe causing problem? All i have installed right now, cause i've changed my old hard drive, is:-FS9 normally, with update 9.1 -FS Elemental ( there is no terrain or something in it, only cloud and water textures )-FSUPC-Redux Lights-PMDG MD 11-World of AI KLM, Lufthansa, Air FranceWithout that line, in scenery.cfg, i got default terrain go through , somewhere around RW36C. With line, everything is OK.And, for now, C9 is first in scenery list, on top of everything.P.S. I try to remove those AI. Same again...As i said, i have no problem with flattering line, but without it...It's new hard drive, new install, never have NL2000 or something.EDIT: That cfg. that i post in message above, is from old installation, thats why the numbers are so high. I taught when i install new one on new hard rive, problem will be solved, but...same again. Can i install this some other PC? Just to try it, maybe something is wrong with installation i8 bought or something.

My Specification: I CAN RUN FSX IN MAX SETTINGS....i don't care about dell, bell, amd, intel, 60000 wats power supply or alien made graphic card....

I already listed possible causes:- Another scenery in conflict. It can be of any type that deals with ground altitude, like mesh scenery, AFCAD, but also a normal scenery file.- Playing with the layering in the scenery library. The EHAM installer will put 2 layers, Airport and Terrain. Terrain should be below airport, which is where the installer puts it.
Without that line, in scenery.cfg, i got default terrain go through , somewhere around RW36C. With line, everything is OK.
You already said that, but it just doesn't happen normally. The only people that ever reported something like that, are those that installed something and, usually, forgotten about it, or never removed it properly. If there was an buy in the scenery, it should happen to *anyone* installing it. At least, on a very good percentage of users, this means it would be quite visible on the forum, since it's not a minor issue.
P.S. I try to remove those AI. Same again...
I haven't said to remove AI. I've said, if you have AFCAD files that came with an AI package, these *might* create a problem so, the solution might be checking for duplicate AFCAD for EHAM.
As i said, i have no problem with flattering line, but without it...
Than keep the flattening line, if it works for you. Is not really needed, but it should't do any harm either. What is strange, is that you put the flatten in the Terrain layer, which has (should have, if one doesn't touch what the installer does) a lower priority than the airport so, it's normally flattened by the AFCAD that comes with the airport, that has an higher priority. But that's not the point. The point is that you tried to say there's some kind of "error" in the scenery, and you went as far as saying "some people WANT admit that they make a mistake even if they are", which is obviously wrong, and it was clearly proven both by the screenshot I've posted, someone else has also replied to you that it doesn't have it either, and of course, there's no trace of it on Cloud9 support forum, except few cases, which were always solved, and weren't caused by C9 Eham.BTW, This is now becoming a support question so, I kindly asking you to continue in the Cloud9 support forum. And, I'll repeat my question for the 3rd time:You said you wrote about this on Cloud9 forum, and you haven't got any useful answers. Can you please tell me where is your post or under which nickname you posted, so we can maybe continue there ? Because, as I've said, the only message related on a similar problem, was replied to, fixed and it was clearly not a scenery's fault. So, I guess it wasn't you posting that one.
Can i install this some other PC? Just to try it, maybe something is wrong with installation i8 bought or something.
You can install it on any number or PC, there isn't any need to activate it, the Trial would work just fine to check the scenery.
