October 1, 200916 yr Okay, I finally got may WOAI working but now I can not get my aircraft to park at the proper gates. I have NO duplicate AFCADs and this is happening at ALL airports, yes I have updated the AFCADs using AFX...(never had a problem before). I did a clean install of windows (with all updates) and FS9 (with 9.1 update) to try and resolve this issue...no luck in that. What would be causing this problem? I have explored all the probable causes and still clues as why this is happening. :( :( Thanks.77L
October 1, 200916 yr Are you coding your parking spots with the same code as in the the plane's aircraft.cfg file for that livery? Note that these are case sensitive (all should be capitals). Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page

October 2, 200916 yr Assuming this is for FS2004, have you compared the required radius of the aircraft in question to the radius of the parking spot(s) ?An easy way to find the required radius is to use the AFCAD program - Select Tools, then select Aircraft Editor. That will display a listing of all the aircraft you have installed. Scroll down to the one in question and you will get a screen full of useful information, including the required radius of the aircraft.Hope that helps.
October 2, 200916 yr Also I have found that I need to add two lines (not just one) to the aircraft.cfg file for the aircraft in question.Example:atc_parking_types=GATEatc_parking_codes=AALYou made no mention of the atc_parking_types=GATE entry - just the parking codes one.Might be worth checking. :(
October 25, 201015 yr After a year away from FS and a new hard drive, I reinstalled FS 9 and loaded most of scenery with WOAI FPs. I did not load UT USA because my FLYTampa KSEA fuel tanks would not display when using UT USA. I have found that my WOAI traffic is better, but again not representative of real KSEA traffic. After messing around with WOAI Southwest FP's, I have gotten Southwest traffic about as true to actual traffic as I can get. I am currently in the middle of reconstructing my Hughes Airwest traffic using what I have learned. Glad to be Back!!!! Good day...77LSorry, forgot....ALL aircraft are parking where they should Most people can not see far, some can not see past their own nose.
October 26, 201015 yr Sorry, forgot....ALL aircraft are parking where they should Do you mind sharing what it is that you did to finally get the aircraft to park correctly? It might be a value to someone else.

I've recently returned, after losing it all in a hard disk crash years ago and walking away. I'm using FS9 now, instead of FS2002, but back then I was an experienced AFCAD guy.I've upgraded the scenery on a number of airports, and many of these downloads came with AFCAD-2 files. They all seem to install fine, and show up just as they should in AFCAD. But, I've noticed that a lot of the parking and gate assignments have small radii, so the planes don't park there. When I fix the parking size, things work fine, as you suggested above. My question - is this a common problem with FS9 add-ons? Is there just a disconnect between the AFCAD uploaders and the aircraft designers? And, if that's so, wouldn't it be easier to change the aircraft radius than the parking radius? After all, there are far more parking spaces than aircraft in a typical world. Can you tinker with aircraft radius easily?
November 18, 201015 yr Hi,Yes, it is easy - just use the AFCAD Aircraft Editor as described above. But note that if you change it to something quite a bit smaller than the plane's visual model, that aircraft following this plane before takeoff will snuggle up to this one way too close, due to the smaller radius value.Hope this helps, Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
