FS9 loads default joystick assignments and erases my customised assignments

Featured Replies

The title says it all, almost...Although I have been using FS9 for years with the same customised assignments on my AETI yoke 12 buttons, suddenly for reasons I cannot determine, each time I start FS9, default yoke assignments are loaded which have nothing to do at all with my original assignments. This is a very recent occurence and I cannot link it to any new product install or any change of hardware (none).I deleted my FS9 cfg file to rebuild it, to no avail. I uninstalled my yoke driver and reinstalled, no change! What is even stranger is that each time I start FS9, I go straight to the settings and assignment page, delete ALL assignments in the joystick column, close that page, reopen it immediately to discover that two new assignments are made, one for the landing gear and another for the View cycle. That happens each time and with the same assignment, I am puzzled. All my yoke buttons are assigned through FSUIPC registered version, so none should appear in that FS9 joystick assignment column. I have though to keep my joystick activated in FS9 because I am presently beta testing one software that does not use FSUIPC yet. In any case this has always been that way before.Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? Any help would be highly appreciated. With best regards,Jean-Claude

It's an easy fix. Configure your joystick axis requirements in FS9 the way you want them, then shut FS9 down.Open the FS9.cfg file, and find the line (in square brackets) that starts with "JOYSTICK_MAIN {etc etc..."Below that line add this line:LOCKED=1That will stop FS9 from re-detecting and changing your joystick assignments. Note also that if you later want to change your joystick settings in FS, you'll have to remove the line (or set LOCKED=0).RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO
