Starting ASA blocks whole computer for 10 seconds

Featured Replies

Hello, one thing that bothers me a little bit with ASA, is that if you start ASA, the PC will freeze for about 10 seconds completelly. My system is not tooo bad:Q6600 @ 3Ghz8800 GTS4GIG RamVista 64 HP with full Admin rights...It's not a real big problem, but if you think you can look into sth to make this better, would be great.beside this its a great addon!!thanks, guenter

Hi,Not really sure if you are referring to the networked computer or the server computer. So:Set ASA to use core 3 or 4 on the networked computer. On start up ASA doesn't touch the server computer at all except to check the FS databases. If the server computer is freezing for those 10 seconds, it may be your anti-virus scanning the process ASA is undergoing in that database check. I know my server does not freeze while ASA is starting on the client computer. Thanks,
