October 12, 200916 yr I'm interested in changing some sounds for aircraft in FSX to more realistic sounds. I've seen many sound packages on this and other forums for 2004 aircraft but few for FSX aircraft. Would those sounds work without problems in FSX? Just curious...of course, I would save my original sounds just in case.Stan

October 13, 200916 yr Yes and no. Some sounds loop funny because they aren't FSX-based "all around." but in general a lot of sounds I use are from FS9 and work fine. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
October 13, 200916 yr fs9 and fs2002 sounds dont have the cone effect and use stereo wav files. so you wont get the viewpoint orientation and surround effects generated by the fsx sound engine. infact havent come across any sound packages in the library making use of it. its unfortunate most payware addons even those made fsx exclusive dont make use of it.you could try manualy convert to mono and add cone lines to cfg from default sounds but may create silent zones on some packages.if you do it correct it is very enjoyable.
