Hi all. anyone using the above mentioned graphics card? The catalysts 9.9 drivers with the hotfix is a complete nightmare for me. While I'm able to play other games with huge frame rate improvements just fine, FSX is totally not playable. I get anything from black screen, textures not showing up on the majority of my aircrafts, FSX not loading and giving error - 'unable to load FSX cfg.' unbeleivable low frame rates. (hard to believe since upgrading from a Geforce 7300 AGP 512M, 128bit.)I have tried older drivers from 9.3 up including the beta 9.10 from guru3d, without any luck. Before I continue, let me say that my system is mediocre.Specs: Asus A7N8X deluxeAMD barton 2800 - clocked 3200 @2.2 mhzWin Vista 32bit SP22Gb of DDr2HDDCreative Xfi Xtreme GameSaitek X52Sapphire ATI HD 3850 AGP 512MB, 256bitAntec ATX 500Watt - thinking of upgrading to a 750Watt power supply real son.In any case, I have tried with minimum settings from both game and drivers. Even got the drivers successfully clocked at 709/933. but still suffering.Would like to know what other drivers ATI users are using and if there may be other workarounds before upgrading my system? NOTE: i was pretty happy with Nvidia, just thought I was getting a better deal. Thanks

Sadly, AGP is no longer properly supported by ATi, and FSX doesn't get any lovin either. You should move back to your old card or buy a new system altogether.

I was an ATI supporter since 1986, and had a 3870 for about five months, before I got wise: it seems the ATI cards are fabulous with all other games except FS9/X. I switched it for the (old, now) nVidia 9800GTX and have never looked back, and I've no doubt the newer cards are even stronger.Good luck!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Personally, I'd unclock the CPU and see if that clears up any video issues. If so, start to over-clock again..and stop where other sub-system issues are not apparent.

Thanks guys for all your responses. It seems ATI is not the way to go. I was so excited to get it, but now I think its time to revert back to Nvidia. Sesquashtoo - Nice suggestion, I may have to give that a try. Though I believe the CPU is the bottleneck here I and I'm not crazy about unclocking, but who knows. Might just workDoes anyone have a suggestion for a top notched Nvidia AGP card?Paul J - I did some research on the nVidia 9800GTX. It appears to be a PCI Express card. Am i right?Troy
