October 20, 200916 yr Of course, I get the new system, installed everything according to Nicks guides, spend all evening installing my payware scenery and now I just came across threads describing problems with add ons and Acceleration. Imaginesim's airports are the ones I am concerned with - I have 6 and planed on buying more.Does everyone still have problems with Imaginesim stuff and are there other add ons I should be concerned about? Both Microcenter and Best buy didn't have it listed in their computers. Both Microcenter and Best buy didn't have it listed in their computers. Most addons work with Acceleration, even all of Imaginesim's airports. However, beware of some addons that are ported over to FSX from earlier versions of FS. I have Imaginesim's KIAD for FSX and it works great during the day but at night it destroys frames and the lighting on one of the runways is way out of proportion. This has been brought to their attention by several simmers but it has not been fixed (at least to my knowledge and I see no updates on their website). I uninstalled the software as I like to fly out of KIAD but don't want to be confronted with the frames issue caused by the night lighting. You'll find most addons ported over to FSX from a previous version will work with SP2/Acceleration unless you turn on DX10 Preview. You may have issues with textures not appearing and maybe some other anomalies. Some addons from previous versions of FS will state the addon is fully compatible with SP2/Acceleration and that means they are compatible with DX10 Preview enabled. With your system, you should have no problems running Acceleration. I hope you have the 64 bit version installed! If you cannot find it in local stores, check the on-line stores (or even the AVSIM Store!!). Wal-Mart usually has copies in supply too. I know Amazon.com has it for sure but I would get it from AVSIM if they still have copies on hand. They need your business!!Best regards,Jim
October 21, 200916 yr 64-bit version of what? I assume you mean OS, perhaps you are saying I hope you have the 64-bit version of Windows 7 installed? There is no 64 bit version of FSX or Acceleration. FSX Gold includes both FSX Deluxe and Acceleration. Tom Perry

I'm upgrading to Windows 7, 64 bit tonight but it will probably take at least the weekend to complete. Already upgraded the laptop. Not sure what I'll get in a performance boost but at least the OS will be able to see ALL of my installed memory. Best regards,Jim YoungImaginesim announced fixes for their airports. Should be released after VHHH.That's great news. I look forward to the updates and maybe I'll buy more if the past issues are fixed.Best regards,Jim Young

December 28, 200916 yr Author No. This is what they have on their website.18 December 09 Christmas holidays: We will be on our holidays from today until 04 January. Customer support will be available during this period but replies may a little later coming than usual. In the new year we will be re-releasing KATL for FSX, the first of the comprehensive updates for our entire FSX range. Work also continues on our latest project - WSSS. Happy holidays.20 October 09 FSX updates: Whilst beavering away with our VHHH project we have also been quietly updating all of our FSX titles to bring them bang up to date. These updates are general performance improvements and most importantly will enable older AI aircraft packages to work. We plan to get these FSX updates on to the website in the wake of the Hong Kong release.I have no idea why they are starting with KATL. That ones seems fine. IAD and LGA are the ones that are unusable. I don't understand why they don't want to make their products better by fixing issues found by customers after releasing a product. I know people have e-mailed them seeking a fix and I was just hoping that someone might have discovered a fix. Happy New Year!Best regards,Jim
December 29, 200916 yr I sure hope these fix the light issues. I agree on KATL--it works great for meas well. My problem airports were KCLT, MYNN, and KLGA. When I emailed them about the issue last year, they said it was too hard to fix and maintain FSX and FS9 compatabiliy. Funny since Aerosoft had the same problem with a couple airports, and found a fix within days. One of the things I liked about the Imaginesim version was the people mover buses to/from the terminals and the aircraft. These are being eliminated at KIAD so it's time to move on. The KIAD scenery here on AVSIM is called Washington's Dulles International Airport - KIAD v2d - by Kambiz Agazi (KIAD_v2d_263568.zip). He's constantly updating the scenery and has already done several updates in 2009. I think he did an excellent job. Best regards,Jim
