Decreasing the time "View" msgs are displayed

Hi,After reinstalling my PC and FSX I can't remember what you needed to do to decrease the time the red FSX messages in the upper rights corner are shown telling you what view you're currently in and the zoom level. I remember it was as simple as adjusting a value but what value and in what file...anyone?Then another question, I noticed most of the times I have to click 'Hide Menu' twice (I'm running in fullscreen) - anyone else seen this? Not a big deal, just a bit annoying ;-)TIA,

For the first question change these two lines in the FSX.CFG: (Easy way to get to it without unhinding foldres is typing "%appdata%\Microsoft\FSX" in the Windows Explorer Address bar.)*ChangeTime*TransitionTimI set both to 1---I'm not too sure about the second question but maybe one of the ALT keys on your keyboard is broken and remember to Hold ALT instead of pressing it.

If you hold down both alt keys at the same time, it will hide the menu instantly I think.

ChangeTime=0.4000000 is my current setting (brief zoom and view name display) and is almost too short. I've run it lower but at 0.1 I seem to recall it being too brief to read at all. But that is the value you can modify at will.TransitionTime=0.000000 is my choice for the transition time between views - like why should I wait when I ask it to 'do something'?Loyd

Setting both to 0 seems way to short and I bet that it won't even come on for 1 second if you set it to that. If you set both to 1.000000 then it will only display the view thing for about 3 seconds if I remember correctly, and that helps a lot when taking screenshots and making new wallpaper!

I tried changing both values to 1 instead of the default value of 4 and the result is just what I was looking for, many thanks again!
