Unable to install FS9.1 uppdate on Windows 7

Featured Replies

Just obtained a new computer with Windows 7 x64 as the OS. I've repeatably tried to install the FS9.1 update without success.I've placed the file in the FS9 folder, tried to run it in compatability mode. I have UAC turned off but have also tried run as administrator. I've tried leaving it for a while as suggested by Pete Dowson in his forums with the original release. The program gets as far as ABLSCPTT.dll then hangs for a short period (less than a minute) the I get a message saying the update was unsuccessfully applied. Has any one got any ideas???Thanks in advancePhillip Speer

You should have no problem update FS9 to 9.1. As far as I know the "file" doesn't have to be in the FS9 folder. Or maybe it shouldn't be at all, I haven't tried that. I have made at least 3 installs of fs9 in Win7 x64 and they all worked fine. Also, what is that message about the update not successfully applied? FS9 type message or Win7?Pierre

Hi Pierre,I've tried the file on the desktop and other folders but no success. It's an FS9 message not a Win7 message.Phillip

Installed Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on Wenesday October 28, 2009. Then on Thursday October 29 downloaded FS9.1 update from the Microsoft site: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=enRan that file from 'Computer/Downloads' folder and had no problems. Sucessful install was displayed upon completion.
