  2. I can think of a few reasons why you would still want to use the Nvidia App: a. set the HDR settings in Video under System; b. set the Nvidia overlay on; c. set the game filters and photo mode. If you need those functionalities of course...
  3. First: the DLSS swapper did its job. It transferred the 310.7 files to the simulator; Second: the Nvidia App will revert back to 310.6 when you change the DLSS settings like FG for example. Third: the Nvidia profile inspector 3021 will change your DLSS settings without overriding the 310.7 Fourth and finally, this is just a summary of the behaviours of the App. Depending on what you want to change, you should test and display the DLLs with the Swapper settings (bottom left). For example: I wanted to use the 310.7 with FG set at 6 fixed. Everytime I did that with the App it overrode to 310.6. So I use the profile inspector (latest) 3021 and set FG to 6x and I now use 310.7 with FG at 6x. There are other combinations available that will better match your hardware. I use a 5090. 4. in your head...
  5. That"s interesting. Using 5.4 here with smoothness. Just recently re-installed 5.4 along with 4.5. It was a test to see how those old flight sims would run. 4.5 was straigthforward. no problem on initial install. 5.4 was different. I had to tune first the affinity settings for the cpu: i9 14900k, that was easy also. But still had few stutters here and there particularly in panning in/out of the cockpit. Long story short: my monitor is 240hz tuned it down to 60hz and applied the vsync with no framerate limit and triple buffer. Smooth ever since, actually re-installed more stuff a/c and scenery. Cheers, Pierre
  6. Problem here with my browser Firerfox. With all of their updates they had very strick setting for DNS. Pictures show now. Nice shots by the way. Tks
  7. I understand that Mike. But your 3 screen configuration and 3 4090s make it a different ball game.
  8. Let's be clear. Smooth Motion works with XP12. I am using it now and have the past 2 weeks.
  9. Do not worry about the >optimization> thing it is only: Nvidia applying general in game settings for the application. If you have set your game settings to your liking you do not need the Optimization thing. What is important is the supported program trick that will allow you to use Smooth Motion. By the way, there is a new Nvidia app out now: 1105245 Cheers,
  10. The XP12 prg is not supported. But there is a trick in letting the Nvidia App think that it is a supported program. i use eurotrucks2.exe linking to XP12 (as a copy, I'll explain) and activate SM. The trick is simple: you copy your XP12.exe somewhere, rername the XP12 copy to eurotrucks2.exe and SM will work fine. Have used this trick this past 2 weeks and works well. Frames are doubled. Cheers, Pierre the original idea came from someone else on the web
  11. I think Active Sky does a better job with that. Presently flying in NZ and with default wx I get snow at some places like nzmf but not with AS.
  12. Glad to hear and tks for the details Cheers,
  13. Could be many thiings. 1. pw 1kw is fine; 2. reseat the gpu, make sure it is thight. Take a look with a flashlight; 3. use DDU to re-install drivers; 4. which brand gpu? Good luck
  14. Presently testing. I check my base framerate and FG framerate with MSI Afterburner and HWinfo64 real-time. In as far as artifacts are concerned, I see few. I also use Lossless scaling but I prefer Nvidia app because it provides the extra game filters. Cheers, Pierre
  15. Forgot to mention: Game filters is available. You can fine tune the visuals to your liking. Cheers, Pierre
  16. "I’m not a fan of fake frames" Point taken but, if I have the choice of running XP12 in Orbx England scenery with all of the visual enhancements my choice is clear. Cheers, Pierre
  17. If you own an Nvidia 5090 and XP12 you might be interested in this: 1. It is possible to use >Smooth Motion> in XP12 (and possibly XP11 although not tested) That should double your FPS. 2. It is also possible to use >Frame Generation> in XP12. That should bring your FPS to 3X at the very least or 4X which I have not tested yet. Conclusion: What that does is the ability to max everything: clouds, sceneries and AA to 8X at 4K My steup: I7 14900k at 5.4 64gb ram video driver 576.88 Monitor is Dell AWF3225QF 240hz Cheers, Pierre
  18. Thank you Mr. Attwood.
  19. A couple of things you can do. I also had that annoying problem lately. 1. open task manager and kill flightsimulator.exe 2. if you have been using nviddia app and deleted it, it broke something in msfs2020. So you can re-install nvidia app. You dont have to use any of its functionalities. Somehow msfs will close cleanly. Everything works fine now. I do not use the nvidia app anyway, I use geforce experience instead. note: if that does not work, use a kill switch with a bat file like this: taskkill /f /im FlightSimulator.exe Cheers, Pierre
