There's another video where Brian talks about the possibility, perhaps likelihood, that super advanced alien probes could be so small we wouldn't even know they were there.

One might think it's because I'd adhere to the Rare Earth hypothesis which doesn't rule out simple life elsewhere just complex or intelligent life (not rule out, just make extremely statistically unlikely). But that's not why. It runs contrary to the roll of necessity in my metaphysical world view but I'm not married to it. However the complete absence of any empirical evidence that there is life anywhere other than earth is enough for me to stick with my robust world view. However that is not to say that I don't believe the eye witness testimony of credible individuals notwithstanding the possibility that they could be lying for whatever reason. However the benefit of the doubt is also mandatory here. So if indeed the instances of advanced technology far beyond known human capabilities are real, I am far more likely to believe they are our so called decedents breaching the vale between their conventional chronological time and ours much like we might recognize a ghost if we ever saw one as our so called ancestors. November 6, 2025Nov 6 When people ask me why at going on 92 years old I am as healthy as I am. I don't need a walker yet. My blood pressure is pretty normal and I can still inhale 2.5 liters of air. And while I have been hospitalized for a pulmonary edema and had my gall bladder removed and had COVID recently I am pretty healthy. I never stayed in a hospital overnight until I was in my 80s. And while I have traveled extensively in the United States and in the Pacific I seem to have settled in Roswell to retire. The reason for my good health is genetic. You see, my Mom was abducted by aliens so half my genes come from a galaxy far, far away. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
November 6, 2025Nov 6 I tend to agree with the idea that if there is alien life that is capable of interstellar travel, they will avoid us until we mature. Fair enough. There's nothing wrong with requiring convincing evidence before we believe. But do you think being more agnostic is a better choice? Is definitively stating no as bad as definitively stating yes, when we don't actually know? 17 hours ago, FBW737 said: So if indeed the instances of advanced technology far beyond known human capabilities are real, I am far more likely to believe they are our so called decedents breaching the vale between their conventional chronological time and ours much like we might recognize a ghost if we ever saw one as our so called ancestors. I'm not quite sure I understand. "Decedent"... as in dead person. So why advanced technology? Sorry, I'm a bit slow today. Edited November 6, 2025Nov 6 by martin-w
