Please help with DLSS setup

Featured Replies

I really thought I understood about how to properly set up DLSS with the latest (310.7), and Preset M. However, since turning on the DLSS Swapper overlay, I have come to realize that I am not getting what I am trying to get.

Firstly, I have the latest GPU driver (RTX 4090). It seems that I am not setting things right to get 310.7. The DLSS Swapper app says I have 310.7 loaded in MSFS 2024. However, the DLSS overlay in the program says I only have 310.6. I even downloaded and installed the DLSS 310.7 DLL and the MSFS 2024 overlay still says 310.6.

I think between the DLS Swapper. the NVIDIA App, and NVIDIA Profile Inspector, I have got something wrong.

Can someone either explain to me exactly how to set things up to get the latest DLSS file with either Preset L or M? I really need some help.

Thanks.

That's weird that the swapper tells you something different. But honestly I've never actually checked the FPS counter readout to see what mine says.

First: the DLSS swapper did its job. It transferred the 310.7 files to the simulator;

Second: the Nvidia App will revert back to 310.6 when you change the DLSS settings like FG for example.

Third: the Nvidia profile inspector 3021 will change your DLSS settings without overriding the 310.7

Fourth and finally, this is just a summary of the behaviours of the App. Depending on what you want to change, you should test and display the DLLs with the Swapper settings (bottom left).

For example: I wanted to use the 310.7 with FG set at 6 fixed. Everytime I did that with the App it overrode to 310.6. So I use the profile inspector (latest) 3021 and set FG to 6x and I now use 310.7 with FG at 6x. There are other combinations available that will better match your hardware.

I use a 5090.

Or simply stop using the nVIDIA app, as all you need can be set inside DLSS Swapper. No need to even touch the settings inside the nVIDIA app 😉

Could you post a screenshot with the pertinent NI settings? I set mine in NI but I feel I'm flying blind. TIA

I can think of a few reasons why you would still want to use the Nvidia App:

a. set the HDR settings in Video under System;

b. set the Nvidia overlay on;

c. set the game filters and photo mode.

If you need those functionalities of course...

My settings for Profile Inspector for MS2024:

### NVIDIA PROFILE INSPECTOR ###

  1. Profile: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

  2. Frame Rate Limiter For Nvcpl 0x0000012E

  3. Frame Rate Limiter V3 300 FPS

  4. Maximum Pre-Rendered Frames 1

  5. Ultra Low Latency - CPL State Ultra

  6. Ultra Low Latency - Enabled On

  7. Sharpening - Value 0.60

  8. Sharpening Filter - Enabled On

  9. DLSS - Forced Preset Letter Preset L (Transformer Gen 2)

  10. DLSS-MFG - Fixed Frame Generation Count 5x

Settings 9 and 10 are those that count and they are part of section 05 of the Profile Inspector. the rest is personal pref. like 3 and 7.

Cheers

Make sure that you are really telling the sim to use 310.7. It's not enough to simply DOWNLOAD it in the DLSS Swapper screen that has all of the versions...you also need to go the previous screen and double click on MSFS2024 and from there, do the pulldown menu and select 310.7 and swap, and pulldown for Preset M.

If you did that, great, but it's a pitfall I have encountered before.

As was said, it could be a new driver install or the nvidia app is overriding / putting old version back on.
