November 15, 200916 yr Hi all,I have been dabbling in painting recently and having a ball. I have even figured out how to get reflections to work. I have only one issue that maybe you can help me with. When I load the aircraft with the new paint, the lettering is blurry until I zoom all the way in then zoom back out. After that it looks fine. If I return to the cockpit and then back to outside view, it gets blurry again. Could it be an artifact of my video card? It only does this on paint I have done, never on default aircraft. It's driving me crazy. My tools are MSPaint (Vista), DXTBmp to convert back and forth, and Photoshop Elements 6. I convert back to DXT3 format for reflections. What am I doing wrong? Pleeeeeez help. Thanks in advance.
November 15, 200916 yr When you convert your files to extended bitmaps using DXTBmp make sure to not include mipmaps. There is a check box located under the alpha thumbnail.Including mips will make your textures blurry and should only be used if you are painting for AI aircraft.regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
