Problem with Extended DL Purchase

Featured Replies

I am migrating FSX over to W7 on a dual boot system, and I must have deleted by 747x and MD11x downloads. The PMDG site recognized that I purchased these and (reasonably and rightly) states I need to buy the extended download. The problem I am having is that I appear able to load these into my shopping cart, but when it comes to hitting the check out button, it says my cart is empty. When I go back to the "shopping" screen, the items are in my shopping cart. Is there something I am doing wrong?James Nicholas.

i had this problem to. If i remember correctly you need to clear cookies and temp Internet files in IE. give that a shot and let us know what happens.JR

That didn't work, but thatnbks for trying. It's absolutely infuriating, I have tried every combination of filling the cart, emptying it etc. Please can someone from PMDG respond? I tried an email to their support but I have not received any response.

James... just curious, go to Start/Run and type cmd to get a command prompt. Then type "ping www.precisionmanuals.com" without the quotes and hit enter - tell me what IP address it resolves for our server. We've had issues like this in the past caused by ISPs that don't properly update their DNS data. We switched servers several years ago and believe it or not there are still some ISPs that direct to the old IP.

That's an interesting thought, when I ping as you describe - 67.71.225.166 is returned, 4 packets sent 0 received.

Ok, that's the correct IP... Which browser are you using? If it's IE, can you try downloading Firefox and try ordering with that?

It looks like it's resolving DNS but the "4 packets sent 0 received" might be an issue.EDIT:Nevermind, I'm a dumb #$$; I just did a ping myself and it failed. It looks your firewall is blocking ICMP on the WAN side like it should.

James,I'm a new PMDG customer and had the same experience with the "cart is empty" nonsense when trying to pay for my first order. I learned how to solve the problem from an earlier post.Try this: Go to the PMDG website, but DO NOT log-in to your account. Select your purchase, add it to your cart and click on Checkout. The website should then ask you to log-in. After that, the purchase should proceed normally.Anyway, it worked for me. I don't understand why the "normal" procedure failed (many, many times) or why the above procedure worked. At this point in my life I just applaud success and move on.Good luck, and let us know if you succeed.Regards,JerryH
