November 27, 200916 yr Commercial Member Are the MD-11 Fire Switches operatible?Sure they are, use your left and right mouse keys to operate them.Regards,Markus Markus Burkhard
November 27, 200916 yr Oh boy, I was afraid you'd say that. I have tried left, right , up/down and every other way, but can't seem to get them to do anything. I even tried to follow the standard procedure of the affected engine throttle to the 'Idle Position', Fuel Control Switch to 'cut-off' and then left/right 'clicking' the Engine Fire Switch to no avail....Can't seem to figure what is going on. Advanced animations setting has been checked.. Anybody else ever had this problem?Regards, jack
November 27, 200916 yr are you in the 2d cockpit or VC? Try opening the fire panel pop up in the 2d cockpit via the overhead panel. If that doesnt work goto the VC and try to activate the fire handles there. Post your results.Best RegardsJR JR
November 27, 200916 yr JR,What I failed to tell the general public is that I forgot to program an 'Engine fire' in the PMDG options menu. I just for the hell-of-it tried to activate the fire handles when there wasn't a fire to see what would happen....:(Sorry for the 7700....Regards,jack
November 28, 200916 yr ahhh ok.. just an fyi even without a fire event sched. via pmdg, upon activating a fire handle, fuel will be cut off from the engine. You will also be able to discharge the respective fire system. a Disch indication will appear. Give it a shot... its pretty cool.JR JR

Can you recharge them if you were to say, accidently pull the APU fire jug? Or do you have to exit, and reload? Doug Orvis PP-ASEL-IA (USA), Based at KHEF Picture courtesy of Kyle Rodgers

Or do you have to exit, and reload? You may refill the bottles using the PMDG options menu. However, discharging one of them by "accident" is not easy ;)Markus Markus Burkhard

December 5, 200916 yr That's strange....The only time I can activate the fire handles is if I have an actual fire programmed via the PMDG failures menu. I cannot get a mouse-actuated sweet spot to respond in either the 2-D or the 3-D screens at all. I wonder why?Regards, jack
