December 1, 200916 yr Hey Guys, I have been searching and searching for a guide to help me merge my aircraft. I am big on 777 ajets, expecially the American Airlines paint. I have Wilcoe 777-200, I bought it for the gauges and nothing else. What I want to do is use the posky model and vc but use the wilco gauges in the vc. How do I do this?Juts a link to a proper guide is fine...
December 1, 200916 yr Here's a tutorial which briefly outlines how to edit aircraft and panel configuration files. It briefly describes how to substitute one gauge with another among other things. The main thing to remember when substituting gauges in the VC is to leave the positioning co-ordinates alone; VC co-ordinate systems are unique to each model and can't be modified. It's otherwise a fairly simple matter if you're prepared to take your time, be practical and methodical.Anyhow, good luck and welcome to AVSIM. Mike Beckwith

It makes it a lot easier!!Some words of advice... the only gauges you'll really be able to merge will be the PFD, ND, and Upper EICAS... the AP MCP really won't work in the POSKY vc because of the 3-D knobs. You also cannot replace the FMS in the VC.. in the POSKY VC, the FMS isn't a separate texture.. only the screen part. In the Wilco panel, the FMS is a single unit... you can't separate the screen from the rest of the unit. You'll also need to add the POSKY Util and Debug entries to the panel .CFG in order to have the wing flex and tilting landing gear bogies.Also... I've had a problem with the POSKY VC in FSX... it sometimes flickers between "opaque" and "semi-transparent" when over land (doesn't do it over water for some reason) The original POSKY models and VC are not FSX native files and will have some performance issues. My solution to everything was to get the Aerosim 777 for FSX... merge the VC model from that with the new POSKY FSX 777 models (they just posted them on their site over the weekend) and use the gauges and 2D panel from the Wilco 777. Hiroshi Igami created FSX native versions of the 777 models (-200 versions only) so that people could use VC models from other packages with the aircraft. Currently, there aren't many 777 panels for FSX available, but Hiroshi's thinking was that if someone wanted to create a separate panel and VC model... they could mate that with the POSKY FSX 777 models.Good luck!-Alex
