December 4, 200916 yr Sure,, when it happens for this forum, MSFS, let me knowremember, what I posted was based on MSFS, not the popular game list on the net which have nothing to do with how MSFS works or is renderedI also clearly stated users who need the support for other titles can see value with the card over NvI looks like there might be some hope since the Super Sampling AA wasn
December 4, 200916 yr The 5780 is not the "fastest card ever made for FSX" unless you are willing to take shimmer and cloud hits over consistent clean visuals with the perf that comes with those constants. As I said the GTX 285 displays just as much
December 4, 200916 yr If/when that ATi card equals the 285 for IQ without shimmer and provides the same perf regardless of the access in MSFS with weather, come talk to me, otherwise what you are suggesting with the "if - then - maybe - could - would - should" with or without nhancer or ATI Tool access is ridiculous and means nothingThe 'tech' I am speaking of has to do with Intel. One of the tech items the dead horse likes the most which appears to escape the known and understood list of tech items the dead horse can take advantage of, and is amusingAlthough not my primary reason for the trip, it is one of the highlights and it does take me away for dealing with conversations like this, which is a huge plus too

December 4, 200916 yr AllanThis is not the "missing textures" problem which I mentioned in my last post. It sounds more like a problem with the user account control system in Vista and Windows 7. This slaps a sort of lock onto the "default" folder locations for installing application files and seems to prevent the PMDG installer from "writing" everything that needs to be "written" in the default FSX folder. The solution which works for me and others is this: (1) install FSX (and all add-ons) to a dedicated hard drive or, at least, to a directory OUTSIDE the "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)" directories (for example, use "C:\fsx" or "D:\fsx"); and(2) run FSX with "Administrator" privileges.TimThanks for the advice TimUninstalled all addons and FSX + Accel and then installed as advisedI only installed FSX + Accel and MD11X to avoid any possible conflict from other add onsHowever the same problems exist:Black instruments in Virtual cockpitGrey panel in cockpit viewJoystick controls only for throttle / nosewheel / brakes and no flying controlsAssignments all checked okI uninstalled MD11X and reinstalled - exactly the same problems againInstalled other Addon - Citation Mustang - no problems with any graphics or controls !Have to try some other possibilities that I saw in other postings (Sound and HDMI)RegardsAllan

I suggest you contact PMDG support.Rgds,Tim 14900ks, RTX4090, 64Gb@6000-30-36-36-T2, Samsung 990Pro 2Tb , Dell G3223Q 32" 4k Gsync + 27" secondary monitor. December 17, 200916 yr Author Maybe Nick can give me some info on my situation....So I upgraded my system:Q9650@ 3.6, 4 gigs of DDR2, 285GTXOC with 1 gig, From WinXP32 bit to WinXP64bit.I am no longer getting any OOM's, but I swear my performance has has dropped on average of 3-5 frames per sec and my track IR panning in the VC has gotten less smooth. I also noticed that I am seeing 3d objects further out in FS with the 64bit system than with the 32 bit system. I believe after going to 64 bit, FS is drawing more 3d objects at all the same settings....So here are my questions...Given the same general FSX config settings and ingame UI settings... 1. Why does FSX with a 64 bit OS draw more 3d objects?2. I expected 64 bit to run as fast or faster thatn 32bit. Why is it running slower?3. If the reason it's running slower with 64 bit than 32bit because of the increase in 3d objects... what can I do, hardware or software wise to get the same performance in 64bit that I had with 32bit?Thanks ahead of time for any informative answers...JB Buzz313th
