December 2, 200916 yr Is anyone using them with Acceleration? It seems like some things that work with SP2 have issues with Acceleration. December 3, 200916 yr Author Thanks. There are some add ons that you can install to see if they work. This one changes too much to just experimant with. December 3, 200916 yr I should add that I do seem to recall a post where someone talked about an issue with the lights - not sure if that was with Accel or not. Something about the strobes being square maybe.......it's been awhile since I saw that post. Jeremy "rightseater" Fletcher
December 3, 200916 yr Author I think that is a general issue not releted to shockwave. I get that from time to time without Shockwave installed. MSFS Premium Deluxe Edition; Windows 11 Pro, I9-9900k; Asus Maximus XI Hero; Asus TUF RTX3080TI; 32GB G.Skill Ripjaw DDR4 3600; 2X Samsung 1TB 970EVO; NZXT Kraken X63; Seasonic Prime PX-1000, LG 48" C1 Series OLED, Honeycomb Yoke & TQ, CH Rudder Pedals, Logitech G13 Gamepad
December 3, 200916 yr Is anyone using them with Acceleration? It seems like some things that work with SP2 have issues with Acceleration.I seriously doubt SP2/Acceleration is the problem. Many flight simmers are reporting NO problems with the Shockwave lights and you can go onto the A2A Sims forums to see proof or do a search here for shockwave and you'll see many, many happy SP2 or Acceleration and Shockwave owners. I think these happy campers are the computer literate. The computer experts and/or geniuses. I recently reinstalled FSX because I upgraded to the new Windows 7 64 bit OS but did not reinstall the Shockwave lights and I have not seen any problems with aircraft lighting (yet). A2A Simulations made them for the default aircraft and they seem to work well with default aircraft but when you throw in commercial aircraft/scenery addons and you edit the respective aircraft.cfg as others have suggested, things start going screwy. Perhaps the commerical addon developers don't like any modifications to their pieces of work? I do know Shockwave lights backup and replace some of the default light files and effects and that may be creating the issues especially if a commercial addon (aircraft and airport scenery) also replaces some of the same light files and effects. I recall turning on some overhead lights, maybe the panel lights, and the exterior lights would not function. Then I would start having problems with the lights on the default aircraft. When I uninstalled the Shockwave lights they didn't uninstall correctly and didn't put an effects file back into the effects folder. I deleted the Shockwave folders that remained after uninstalling before finding out there was some effect files in the backup that I should have manually put back. I think I will avoid purchasing any commercial addon that modifies default lighting effects, gauges, sounds, etc., because I think other addons you purchase will modify the modified files with their super-duper effects and then you are really in deep doo doo.... For rightseater - here's the link to the square light issue: http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=65089. I think you will see that if you uninstalled Shockwave lights and deleted the folders as I mentioned above, you are missing one or two of the default .fx files and you'll have to do a FSX repair or reinstall to fix.Best regards,Jim
