December 4, 200916 yr All,I have just got RC4 last night and installed it, all is well and works a treat.I have one question.I use two monitors, usualy have one screen as the flight area and the other as a blank screen that I can drag other windows onto, like the 'old' ATC window GPS etc. the screens are not stretched (as win 7 still has the same limitations as Vista)I tried this last night with the RC ATC window and it doesnt let me enter any thing when its on the second screenmove it back to the main and it works.Am I missing something or is it a limitation.thanks in advanceQuad core running at 3.28 Gb 1.5tb storage (FSX on dedicated drive)ATI 4890Win 7-64PS.RC is so cool why have I missed it for so long :(
December 4, 200916 yr Did you click on the aircraft window before you tried the RC key entry ?You FSX plane must have focus before you press the RC key response. Don't select the RC window....
December 4, 200916 yr FWIW, I could never successfully move the RC window to the second monitor either. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
December 4, 200916 yr yes i did select the window, so that it was 'highlighted' ,as soon as i move it back to the main window it works finemove it back across and stops
December 7, 200916 yr this is strangeI tried a flight yesterday and ....worked fine, no problems, moved the window onto the other screen , worked ...now I Am totally confused :( I don't remember doing anything different than before, I haven't changed anything as far as I can remember.Oh well the great controller in the sky must be smiling upon me :( If I work out what was causing it, I will post it here, sorry I can't pin point What has made it work. hey but now it works and I can get told off for not following ground instructions properly he he....
December 7, 200916 yr I'll have to try moving my RC window to monitor #2 again. Maybe the ATC controller gods will make JD smile on me too. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
December 7, 200916 yr I will sacrifice a chicken and chant for you, but draw the line to dancing around the office....its gets funny looks. :( I do remember when I moved it across I did sort of 'slap' it to the top left corner, if you get my meaning. not sure if the position on the screen has anything to do with it.also make sure when you move it to click back on the main screen.I will see if i can get it to fail, so i can fix it again.
December 7, 200916 yr HHmm, the big CC--chicken and a chant. I'll give that (them?) a try next time. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
December 16, 200916 yr Its kind of a "bug" with FSX. You need to "focus" onto the main window, before your keyboard shortcuts will work. Next time it doesnt work, try this - click on the outside window. that is, what you see out the cockpit (not the 2D panel, the actual "outside window.") Now try your shortcuts, bet they work. I posted about this exact issue here about a year ago. Search for it and you might find more info.
