  1. Its a lost cause. Don't even bother. No matter how noble your intentions, in reality, nobody cares.
  2. Flown that route myself in real life many times! 12,000' is below the MEA for that route though! There is an AMAZING freeware YWL scenery on flightsim.com
  3. What a feat! Now, were you in front of the computer the WHOLE time or did your "relief crew" take over?
  4. i REALLY love that cockpit shot. Very atmospheric!
  5. Of course I would neer share anything but the config file, just wanted to know if I could share the ENTIRE config file or if it was copyrighted.
  6. Completed the first test flight without a hitch. Low overcast made for an interesting VFR flight!
  7. Tired of the old, tired avionics in my Carenado 182RG, so she went into the Avionics shop for about $40,000 in upgrades! Got rid of the ADF, and installed a full SimFlyer Garmin GNS suite. Replaced both NAV CDI's as well. Both the VC and all popup windows were modified, just the VC is pictured here. (Both CDI's have since been moved so they line up better.) Not sure what the legality is on "sharing" the Panel.cfg, but I've already had a few requests. Anyone know if I'm allowed to share all or part of the config file? Thanks!
  8. Port Angeles is one of my FAVORITE airports, kinda sad you didn't have to divert this time! Too bad no one makes a good scenery for it...
  9. I'm a Calgary native myself! Are you using the CANUK YYC scenery as well?
  10. I will be upgrading everything. I'll stick with the 3930K processor, EVGA X79 SLI mainboard, at least 8GB of ram, and probably go with dual GTX560's.I'm waiting to pull the trigger until I see what offerings Koolance and Bitspower put forth in terms of waterblocks. I will be happy to run all the benchmarks and post findings.
  11. Overclock link was posted above in the Guru3D article. SB-E will have PCI-E 3.0 support at release, so far the board manufacturers have been limited to marketing their boards as "PCI-E 3.0 Ready" for this reason.I am an enthusiast, and a gamer. I use my box for a LOT more than just FSX. Performance will be leaps and bounds above SB in a lot of applications, maybe not as much FSX, but certainly everything else that's not written on code that's over a decade old...
  12. Base overclocks on the SB-E processors are already past 5.2GHz on a stock Intel cooler. The SB-E processors are in a different league than the Ivy Bridge series. It's an enthusiast platform meant to replace the LGA1366 series of i7's, whereas the Ivy Bridge will continue the lineage of the original SB's and be more of a "mainstream" platform. I'll be upgrading to SB-E myself.Alot of people look at clock speed potential as the deciding factor in whether or not to upgrade. The fact is, for an enthusiast user such as myself, quad channel RAM, support for SLi in true x16 per channel, (Try that on your 1155 system!) PCI-E 3.0 support, etc all make it a worthwhile upgrade.
  13. It is a performance issue. Bleed air normally reserved for air conditioning can instead be used if the engines need just a little more power. If the runway is short, or it is hot and or humid out, the packs may be switched off in an attempt to provide just a tad more thrust on the engines should one fail.
  14. YYC_VOR is gonna be all over those WS paints lol!
  15. Not quite. The CRJ's use plastic trays. The 737's have actual rubber conveyors.
  16. What city do you live in? I use Memory Express for all my parts. They're the cheapest I've found in Canada, and there's three of their stores in my city to boot!
  17. Make sure under realisim settings "pilot controls aircraft lights" is checked.
  18. Bet you guys don't get many triple sev's out in Moncton, eh? AA had one divert here last summer after an inflight shutdown of the #1 engine. Our company actually got to ground-handle it, so it made for a bit of fun! It's just a vent flap. All aircraft have them.
