December 8, 200916 yr Last night I spent a couple hours re-tuning my pc and fsx. the last time I applied nicks, "just dont tweak fsx, tweak your rig". This worked very well for me. I came across this one http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=29041, which has some fsx cfg tweaks and N hancer settings. This was an incredible boost!! I highly recomend others try this as well!

December 10, 200916 yr In my opinion... The biggest feature that can reduce smooth and relatively high (30+) frame rates is... The increased autogen rendering. So, I just have mine set to "Sparse" that is apparently equivalent to FS9's maximum autogen slider setting. I can fly the PMDG 747X, and Captain Sim 757 withframe rates close to 30, in major urban areas like Los Angeles, and San Francisco (I am a West Coast flyer). I think it is ironic the autogen is so robust in a flight simulator where ground structures are not the focus unlike a train, or city simulator. The other thing that really helps on my system is the FRAME RATE LIMITER 2.0. Without this, the frames oscillate too much and I get choppy performance.Especially in heavy iron like the 747X, and others.
