I would try installing the old drivers you are talking about by right clicking on the .exe and running as Administrator and choosing an O/S from the Compatibility combobox such as Windows XP or Vista and for whatever the driver was designed to run on one of the following versions x32 or x64.

Okay, I managed to install the XHOTAS software into the laptop.I installed most recent SST sofware, tried the x86 drivers etc. Somehow the installation worked.But it seems to be impossible to install the sofware in my selfbuilt rig. I always get the "Error 2722" when installing the msi-package. I
