Hi all, just looking for a little advice please, i am currently looking for a new desktop and dont really have a clue. It needs to run FS9 with everything maxed out. Have found one, just wondering if it is any good..Zi-MM 'AMD 402' ATi Gaming Base Unit - AMD Athlon II X2 250 (3.00Ghz x 2) AM3 CPU, 500GB SATA2 HDD, 4GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM, Asus HD4870 1GB DarkKnight DDR5, DVDRW, 10xUSB, FireWire, HDMI, eSATAit's

Perhaps the lack of replies is because no one is real familiar with the Athlon II X2 processors. On paper, it appears that the system being considered should handle FS9 pretty well and should be upgradable with the AM3 socket. The computer certainly has a nice list of features. For value, the Intel i5 750 with the P55 chipset motherboard is currently the hot item, but it may be overkill for FS9.

The Athlon II processors are *roughly* equivocal to their Core 2 Duo counterparts at *approximately* the same clockspeed. They are nice chips for a great price. Plus the AM3 socket has more legs than Intel's old socket 775, so you'll have upgrade options down the road if you desire. Running FS9 on such a system should present no challenges. Maxed out settings with add-ons will be easy.
