Hello Everyone,I have been out of flightsimming for almost 2 years, but now am ready to get back in. I will be getting a computer and monitor for xmas and thought I would ask all of you your recommendations on addons for 2004. If you have any suggestions on Weather, Scenery, traffic or any other programs that will enhance the sim experience please feel free to share and Thank You for your input.Dave

These are what i have and like.ground texture = Ground environment prosky, water and clouds = REX for fs2004, i don't have this one yet but it's an obvious winnerweather engine = active sky 6.5traffic = my own custom traffic with all the latest and fps friendly ai models. you can look into the latest "mytraffic" i think they use the good models now as wellthese should get you started nicely. then there are many excellent aircraft and scenery addons for you to pick and choose.welcome back to the hobby.

DUDE! I am just like you, My computer crashed on me about 7 months ago, Then I lost my job !!!! With no dough i couldnt fix what I concluded to be the problem with my PC. It needed a new graphics card! So I hopped on down to Best buy and got a nice 1GB APG graphic card for $120 (after i went back to work ofcourse). Now to your question about downloads and enhancers! My freind everything you need is right here on AVSIM, What ever you cant find here if you get the dredded "Sorry the file is not available". Mosey on over to www.flightsim.com or www.simviation.com to get it! My suggestions would be to acquire HD Definition Scenery (HDE_1.0.zip) in the Simviation Scenery section. The sky and clouds look unbeleiveable, I would use the Sky, cloud, trees and landclass files from this download. Then if you can acquire "new_waves.zip" and "water2.zip" files for the water you get a nice water effect.Dude you gotta do research on all websites to acquire the best dowloads and you have the names of 3 of the best sites to find them! Make sure you get "BOSTON LOGAN V.2", "EXTREME HEATHROW", "Malpensa Intl - LIMC", and "Fiuminicino Intl - LIRF" airport sceneries! Its just not FS9 without those top 4 monster airport sceneries! If we touch base I can provide you with the names of my favorite scenery files. Send me a private message and if you have EXCEL on your computer I will forward you my scenery checklist! These include Millitary, Ships (with landable decks for helos), and high detail airports. Remember when you do a search use the following keywords to locate the best downloads "HI-RES", "Highly Detailed", and "Photo - Realistic". That automatically pulls up the sharpest looking airports and scenery files! Have fun dude! I still can't go to sleep! Thanks you for posting this man you made all my "TOPGUN" dreams come true with the Miramar "TOPGUN" scenery with all those F14 Tomcats filling up the base like that. I always used that airport flying by myself and flying in the mountiain ranges to reinact movie moments! lol Now I have F14's galore to chase all over the place! Man do they fly like a bat out of hell! Again thanks!!!!!p.s. : Yes I do have the "ICEMAN" and MAVERICK" F14 Tomcats! Wouldnt be Fighter Town without them!
