  1. Just to clarify something for use in FS9, you can only use one ATC parking code for both the Aircraft.cfg entry and AFD parking spot entry. You can put as many entries in those values as you want but it's only going to reference the first one in each. In FS9, making the line "atc_parking_code=112F,F16" or changing the spot's code to "112F,F16" won't change anything. If the AI doesn't see "112F" in a parking spot, it will start looking for the next suitable spot. It will not start looking for a spot coded "F16".in this scenario. That's why we only ever use one unique code for the AI in our packs. I wish we could use multiple codes, it would solve many problems when the AI visit other bases. When the AI do visit other bases, they don't find their unique code, "112F" in this case. Since they have the line "atc_parking_type=MIL_COMBAT" in their .CFG file, they will then look for an uncoded MIL_COMBAT spot of a large enough radius to park in. In all of our AFD files, we leave extra, uncoded spots listed as MIL_COMBAT or MIL_CARGO as appropriate to provide a place to park transient fighters and transports in. As far as the numbers of AI included in the packs, we generally try to include every serial number in each pack. This isn't necessarily the most realistic situation as very few units ever have 100% of their aircraft available for missions. So the options are to leave some out in which case people complain that the packs are incomplete OR to put them all in and let each user decide what they want to do with them. BTW, love the scenery! Looks great, especially with the seasonal ground photo textures.
  2. RTH, thanks for the kind words and yes John does excellent work. Glad you are enjoying the packages. We have never had anyone tell us that they have had issues downloading the packs so I'm guessing your computer's security is causing your download headaches.
  3. A better way of saying what I was trying to say is:If you want to have military style AI traffic in one of the two simulator platforms, FS9 is the better choice since 99% of all military AI traffic related files are designed solely for use in FS9. They can be used in FSX but the results are not as good and there are some issues related to using native FS9 models in the FSX platform. /Group hug.
  4. Because FSX is inferior to FS9 for AI purposes.....
  5. As the guy who made that bonus scenery, I'll second that.... :(
  6. Yes this is a limitation of the FS9 AI engine. It will not allow ai to operate correctly to those fields that are below sea level.
  7. And now that it's out, the complete flood of support requests has crashed their forums. Poor guys, not like they don't already have enough on their hands.Don't equate lots of requests for support for a bad product. I'm sure if the FSX version is anything like the FS9 version, due to its complexity, there are going to be teething issues. Jon and company however are top notch when it comes to support.
  8. Still the 8th where I live....
  9. Jon I'm sorry to hear that the FS9 version was not financially successful. I would have gladly paid more for it than what it costs. Especially when other payware companies making military models charge 25%-50% more for their models which don't even come close to the VRS model. I hope you guys can get something back with the release of the FSX version. For $45 U.S. this model has no rival, military or civilian.Even though I don't run FSX, I can't wait to see the screenshots and videos that will be coming out in the near future.
  10. Nope doesn't work for scenery in FSDS 3 or higher. It is my understanding that LODs for scenery were possible with earlier versions of FSDS, but for some reason, they did not include this functionality in the new version. It is very frustrating not to be able to use them for scenery because they do work for regular aircraft and AI models.
  11. Ok, thanks that's what I thought. I was wondering why one of our packages was being openly shared on that site along with lots of payware. Lovely world we live in.
  12. Is this a legit site? Anyone know?LINK REMOVED BY MODERATOR
  13. That's correct, I have over 4,500 hours in the real one, and it was a nice aircraft to fly. The Feelthere sim looks like it really does it justice. The radar in the real version suffers from having too small of a dish. The power output could be higher as well which would give you better returns and therefore a better overall radar picture. Of all the aircraft equipped with radar that I've ever flown, I trusted the radar on the ERJ the least if that tells you anything. That's why I said earlier if they could simulate the "crappiness" of the real radar, I would truly be blown away! It was sarcasm.
  14. Did they model the real world crappiness of the radar? If so THAT would be a home run IMO......The only thing the real one was good for was getting you close enough to be struck by lightning. And yes I speak from experience.
  15. All of the above recommendations are top notch. I'll toot our own horn here for a segment of the hobby that is sorely ignored. You can get all of our military AI packages free directly from our site. Many of our packages have full custom scenery included in addition to the AI.www.militaryaiworks.comWe have released nearly 150 AI packages so far. :(
