REX and AS6.5

Featured Replies

I don't want to build a REX theme...I would like to use AS6.5 for RW weather engine...does REX choose the appropriate clouds etc? I have Real Environment freeware for FS9 (same guys who do REX)...what's different/better in the payware version? Also, looking at the REX 2.0 gallery, most if not all pics are FSX (I have REX for FSX) are there any for FS9?THanksRich Perry

Hi,I'll let Tim answer for sure, but I think REX 2 can pick textures based on weather conditions.

Hi Rich

Yes, but only if you use the weather screen in REX, prior to your flight and let REX pick the textures via the WX TEXTURES button. There's a very descriptive area in the user manual outlining this. After the textures are submitted, you can quit REX and go about your business with AS and FS9.

If you have REX for FSX version I would think you know the difference between the free version and the payware version. Basically it's EVERYTHING the FSX version offers, with the exception of FSX specifics stripped out. There's really no comparison.

Plenty here: http://realenvironmentxtreme.com/forum/index.php?board=14.0 BUT, I am placing what's called the REX User Experience Gallery of FS9 shots up this evening on our website, so you can get an idea of what our customers are experiencing. The gallery is located here: http://realenvironmentxtreme.com/user.html Watch that space this evening, I will get to update it soon.FYI, there is a service pack about to be released soon that covers all the issues reported by our customers for the FS9 version of REX. The fix list is below:1. Added WASys icon to taskbar when in use (per user feedback)2. Added FSUIPC options to Configuration window to allow user to config custom general FSUIPC settings (per user feedback)3. Fixed cloud handling and missing clouds issue with the REX weather engine4. Fixed the cloud layer issue within the wxtemp.xml file5. Fixed reset of re-load of weather if aircraft passes weather range before auto re-load6. Fixed issue with importing FSBuild flight plans and waypoints not showing7. Fixed water environment reflections8. Fixed Cumulus 32 transparency (per user feedback)9. Fixed Cumulus 53 transparency (per user feedback)10. Fixed Restore function in Configuration window11. Fixed Ocean Water colorization and installation 12. Fixed Ocean Water Set 1 (per user feedback)13. Fixed Wave Animation set 05 (per user feedback)14. Revised aircraft reflection file (per user feedback)15. Increased time before auto-loading weather into FS9 when using the REX weather engine16. Adjusted formula for winds aloftHope this helps in answering your questions. Have a great Holiday!
