Mixing WOAI with UT2004

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,Happy Holidays. I've noticed little parking traffic as well as takeoff and landing traffic at my home airport (KSWF). I use Ultimate Traffic 2004 with updates as far as they went for the version I have. I'd like to populate my airport with more traffic. I'm aware of WOAI and that I can input my airport ICAO code to see what traffic flies in and out.Has anyone as of late taken their UT and added to it with WOAI or any other legit AI package at certain airports only? Anything I need to keep in mind when doing so not to make a mess and slow down the entire AI system? Any hints and tips much appreciated. Thanks.BTW: (I did do a search on this and saw some old postings back in 2006/7. Just looking for updated advice.)

http://www.world-of-ai.com/installer.htmlexplains what their installer does. I have UT2007. UT installs models and AFCADs. If an AFCAD is installed with a WOAI package, a conflict can result. The other thing is the name of the trafficxxx.bgl file. UT simply uses traffic.bgl. To keep that I would hope WOAI names their traffic file to something other than traffic.bgl. The WOAI installer can just extract files to a directory you specify. That would give you the opportunity to examine what is going in and make any changes manually such as changing the name of traffic.bgl to trafficxxxx.bgl to preserve your UT traffic.bgl file.To prevent AI conflicts if you place an airline in WOAI then recompile UT witghout that carrier so AI schedules are not duplicated.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stewart_International_Airportdescribes the airport and airlines with destinations there. UT has a feature that might help you achieve some idea of what it is scheduling. You can create a timetable for each airline there and examine it or you can use a traffic board-flight status ulility for that airport. You can then see what is missing as described in the wikipedia link above. If you click on Time Table and then within it Status Board you'll get a search criteria box. Put in KSWF and let it grab the data. Attached is an image of the airlines there and in the background traffic around Thursday at 1230 local. Now you can see what WOAI can add in the way of airlines not existing in UT.You can browse the real world real time schedule here:http://flightaware.com/live/airport/KSWF

Ron, thanks for taking the time to reply with some good info. I'm gonna go ahead and re-design KSWF with WOAI, Traffic Tools and ADE9X and hope for the best.Happy Holidays.
