December 27, 200916 yr I want scenery to make Cancun like it is. I have Scenery Tech North America Landclass installed, however Cancun is still rural. I believe that is because it has to have more than just landclass to make cities pop up with autogen. Does anyone have Tropical Sim Cancun 2010, FlyMex Aeropuertos de Mexico South, Central, North or any other freeware or payware? What are your opinions of these scenery programs for the Cities, etc as well as the airports? I am most interested in the cities and development. Thanks, Lynn Lynn Fisher
December 28, 200916 yr After reading the title to this thread I first thought it was a response to something I had posted. Cancun/Mayan Riviera is one of my favorite places to fly but the default scenery had been extremely disappointing in every version of FS. Here is what I have found:I have Fly Mex south and central. North is not FSXSP2 compatible. South covers Cancun and the MR. With these packages you will get airport scenery for the area but not much else. MMUN is outdated because it does not contain T3 and the new runway and it still uses the old charter terminal that was destroyed by Hurricane Wilma. In addition, they use a lot of low res satellite photos for the ground textures, runways and aprons that don't look very good. In general, the packages are OK because so many airports are provided but the MR stuff is not very satisfying.Tropical Sim Cancun 2010 is decent and it is up to date with T3 and the new runway. It only includes the airport scenery so the hotel zone is going to look as barren as it did before. TS's stuff is not at the level of the high quality scenery developers out there but It is the best that is available at the momentFor the area, I use FLY Mex for Mexico but I removed Cancun from the package and installed Cancun 2010. I also have the Scenery Tech stuff and I think it does an ok job for downtown Cancun but it does nothing for the Cancun Hotel Zone, Cozumel or Playa Del Carmen.Fly Mex places an airport in Playa Del Carmen but it consists of only a runway. In reality, it is a small, cramped GA airport right in the middle of the city.I find it shocking that no one has done a high quality package for the MR in FSX. Considering it is a very popular vacation destination for Americans and it is becoming more popular with Europeans. With every trip to Cancun/MR I meet people from all over the world. Departing RWY 12 always provides a spectacular view of the hotel zone - I always make sure I am seated on the left side of the aircraft. With two international airports in the area (Cancun and Cozumel), three small airports (Isla Mujeres, PDC and Tulum), miles of coastal resorts and three cities, it could make a fantastic package if it was done right. I'm am sure it would out-sell Aerosoft's TahitiX and MaldivesX (probably combined) and I know I would pay a lot more for it.I do feel like someone said they were going to do scenery for the area but I can remember who at the moment. Maybe I dreamt about the upcoming scenery or something because I can't find it now with Google. Credit card is in hand for anyone that produces a nice package for the entire area and I doubt I would look too closely at the price before hitting the purchase button. December 28, 200916 yr Author My sentiments exactly. I don't understand the lack of interest by developers either. I hope that someone fills the gap quickly. Thanks,Lynn Lynn Fisher
