MD 11 fails to initialize when launched after another default a/c

Featured Replies

I have had to re-install FSX and have been re-installing add-ons, I now have the MD11 re-installed and activated OK.If I load a situation using the MD11 from FSX startup then all seems to be OK, however if I first load another default a/c I do not get the progress bar installing the fixes, etc. nor the countdown to initialize the panel when either switching to the M11 a/c or loading a saved situation using the M11. Then I get black screens in the panel and the yoke appears to be twisted hard one way and will not respond- also no switches respond.I don't recall this being an issue before but I could be wrong- any suggestions? Thanks, Bruce.

The sim requires the initialization, if that doesn't start try using the MSFS reset flight menu item. I've used that in the past to start the initialization, I think this has something to do with the way FSX loads flights but it isn't consistent.

Thanks Dan. I also installed the B744 after the M11 (which is the reverse of the chronological order that they were released and installed into my previous FSX, so I don't know if that matters or not.Bruce.

It shouldn't matter at all..., but then I did have an interaction between the two once or so it certainly seemed so. The fail to initialize is not really a problem as long as reset works.
