beechcraft_baron_58p-tc.zip ?

Featured Replies

Anybody have, and willing to share, Ross Aldrich's stock FS2004 Beechcraft Baron 58 set up with an aftermarket STC coversion package from RAM Aircraft, Inc. of Waco, Texas. The package replaces the factory 300hp Continental IO-550-C engines with new 325hp TSIO-520-WB Turbocharged engines, giving a 50hp increase, and the sustained power of the turbochargers means a sustained 1500fpm climb rates, 100lb increase in Max GW, and 200 kt cruise speeds. The file, "beechcraft_baron_58p-tc.zip" is no longer available in the files list and I can't find it at any of the other usual places. Thanks! Vic

Are you sure the file name is right? I put that in Google search and found several converted Barons, with a similar file name. Is this an FSX plane?

Hello,

Are you sure the file name is right?

There are 2 other Baron TC conversions for FS9 (that I know of) but from the bit I understand on how a TC conversion should work...those 2 are way off. Both have ridiculously high fuel flows (were going from 600 to 650 hp...not 1,650 !! :( ) and one will climb at 2500 FPM...at 300 KIAS ! :( I'm hoping this one is more realistic.

  • 1 month later...

Thanks to notification from Vic, and assistance from Mel, I have re-uploaded the file to Avsim, and it should be entered into the file library within the next 24-48 hours. I did change the readme slightly to address the fact that I no longer live in Alaska, and as such my email address changed.A great thanks also has to go to Vic for his praises of the work I did building the flight dynamics for this aircraft.. without his enthusiasm, I might not have cared if the file was ever replaced. And with that as a motivation I have begun working on a version for the FSX Baron, although I doubt highly that it will include a panel.. thanks again for the help and enthusiasmRoss

Just so everyone else knows...this aircraft is sweet! She is much more realistic in handling, power and fuel burn than the previous Baron TC's I've tried. Well worth the hunt, in my opinion. Thanks for re-uploading her, Ross!

It has been re-added to the library.. http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=143999I am nearly finished with my FSX conversion and should have it up by early next week.Ross

Is the real Baron really that sensitive in the flight controls!?!
